Marsh House Farm

Marsh House Farm, this luxury Hereford bed and breakfast, is set in 4 acres of land with 2 large, stocked lakes and campsite, with lovely views to Burghope Wood.

Situated 4 miles North of Hereford city centre and 8 miles South to Leominster on the A49 makes this Georgian B&B a perfect base for leisure and business.

The farmhouse was a Coaching Inn many years ago, and so it seems quite apt that once again it should be offering breakfast and lodging to weary travellers.

The property has recently undergone major refurbishment under the new owners, Brian and Tracy with guests now having the opportunity to use the newly created guests lounge and garden room during their stay and have access to the new, fully equipped gym created in one of the outbuildings opposite the main house. Along with the chance to do some fishing in the lakes or stroll amongst the beautiful grounds makes this an ideal property to relax after a hard days touring and exploring.

The house is within easy reach of The Weir Garden, Berrington Hall and Croft Castle to name a few National Trust sites as well as the Cider Museum and Waterworks Museums in Hereford.

Queenswood Country Park is approx. 2 miles away with Burghill Valley Golf Club and Hereford Racecourse just a couple of miles from the property.

If you enjoy art and culture you are well placed for Hay-on-Wye and make sure you tie in your visit with one of the many festivals taking place throughout Herefordshire. See the Mappa Mundi and the Magna Carta in the Chain Library at Hereford Cathedral. Visit Leominster for a multitude of Antique shops as featured in Bargain Hunt and the Antiques Road Show.

The Coach-House

There’s nowhere quite like rural Herefordshire for relaxing and The Coach House at The Old Rectory is situated in the heart of this beautiful county. Hidden behind electric gates and at the end of a private driveway the property is surrounded by five acres of private grounds most of which are open to guests. You can stroll through the wild flower meadow, watch the ducks on the two large ponds and even enjoy some of the produce from the kitchen garden.

The property itself is a light and spacious first-floor apartment, with open-plan living and French doors that open out onto a balcony for some fabulous views. The owners have included lots of little extra touches, including Egyptian cotton bed linen and wall-mounted televisions in both bedrooms. You could spend your holiday just enjoying the views and the grounds, but you’re also ideally placed to visit nearby lovely market towns. Historic Leominster with its famous black and white buildings is under 5 miles away while Ledbury, Hay-on-Wye and Ludlow come highly recommended as day trip destinations.

Sunday 22nd - Please feel free to come as you are. Last nights outfit, pyjamas, a clean suit...what ever you can muster.

What kind of shoes should/shouldn't I wear?

Do not wear stiletto heels. I repeat, do not wear stiletto heels. We are hosting our wedding ceremony within a woodland area so please do bare that in mind! You may want to opt for a chunky heel/sandal or wedge.

What if I have a dietary restriction?

Please rest assured all dietary restrictions will be catered for. Our fabulous caterer Ginger Jar will be providing vegan and gluten free options for all of our guests. You will also have the opportunity to write your dietary requirements on your RSVP card so we know well in advance and can cater to your specific needs.

Are there any colors that guests should avoid wearing?

Where is the ceremony and reception taking place?

The wedding ceremony and reception will all be held at Braodfield Court.

Have you reserved any hotel room blocks?

Given the recent lockdown we were unable to block out hotel rooms for our guests. However, we have a list of places to stay that come highly recommended. Will there be dancing?

Hell yes! We'll see you on the dancefloor.

Will children be at the wedding?

Yes. Little ones are more than welcome! Please do let us know if you would prefer them seated at the table for the wedding breakfast, or are happy for us to set up a nursery for them.

Is there transportation being provided between reception and hotels?

Please arrange your travel between hotels etc. We have taxi details on our Taxi & Accommodation page. We have been advised it is best to pre-book these as they get very busy.

Can we decorate your “Just Married” getaway car/vehicle?

Yes! We are going to have a very full boot but you are more than welcome to decorate.

Will last names be changing after the wedding?

We will both be keeping our last names until we begin to start our family. Manzano-Adam or Adam-Manzano...what do you think?

Is there WIFI at the venue?

Yes absolutely. We will have this signposted for everyone to see.

Tidbits

How did you first meet?

See Our Story!

Who made the first move? How?

Sarah - David!

David - I did. Sarah said she wouldn't kiss me on the first date, which I interpreted as 'convince me'.

Tell us about your first date

Sarah - David was an hour late but we'll skip over that! Our first date was obviously great; lots of getting to know one another, cocktails and laughter. So much so that the following day whilst at my Tias house (to celebrate my Abuelos birthday) I announced that I had met my future husband the night before!

David - Firstly, I was only late because of traffic. I made up for it by calling the restaurant and getting them to bring Sarah an espresso martini every 3 minutes until I got there. We went for dinner in Notting Hill, I chose the Chef's Table because I knew Sarah was a chef, and the next day she told her family she was going to marry me - so I was kind of locked in from the start.

Who's going to take out the trash?

Sarah - Who do you think!?

David - I work the bins. Always have.

When did you know you were in love?

Sarah - I think I knew when I saw how great David was with my family. I could take him anywhere and he'd thrive. I once found him at a family party talking to the only man in the room that didn't speak a word of English; both David and our relative found common ground over their love of watches and were getting by perfectly well without speaking a word of the others language.

David - we were at dinner at a friend's (one of my Groomsmen - Luca) and I said it without thinking.

What was your most memorable date?

Sarah - So many! Probably one of our very first dates. David was definitely trying to impress so booked an an incredible place last minute. We had a 6 course tasting menu paired with champagne, wine, cocktails etc. We ended up so drunk by the 3rd course, surrounded by glasses, causing a complete raucous in a very swanky restaurant having an absolute ball!

David - I'd have to agree with Sarah. Though it seems she was too drunk to remember the other 4 courses; it was 10.

What's your favorite activity together?

Sarah - Cooking & Eating! Taking Monty for long walks in nature. Eating out!

David - Getting stuck into a good series and cooking together. Also trying new restaurants when we can find a dog sitter.

Where are you going for your honeymoon?

Sarah - Southern Italy Baby!

David - Mexico - Ariiiiiba (more likely Southern Italy because we love it and Boris won't let us use 'we love Mexican food' as a good enough reason to travel).

What's the most memorable trip you have taken together?

Sarah - Northern lights was pretty spectacular! Spending December 2019 in Thailand was a trip of a lifetime...so special.

David - island hopping around Thailand for 3 weeks. Getting upgraded to first class everywhere because we were on our fake honeymoon.

What's the best meal you have eaten together?

Sarah - I don't actually think we've ever had a bad meal?! Any meal at Brat in Shoreditch is always incredible.

David - first time at Brat, first time at Restaurant Story and a lovely beach restaurant in Koh Tao, Thailand - sunset dinner and cocktails.

We’re on the same page about

Sarah - Everything. As cheesy and cliché as it sounds we really are on the same page about most things. Unless we're fighting about who gets the last bite of food we're supposed to be sharing.

David - Pretty much everything. Deliveroo has had a bit of a hard time recently, for my own good apparently.

A life goal of ours

Sarah - A road trip around the states. Living in a chalet in Canada. Travelling on The Orient Express. Babies!

David - Building a house from scratch without Kevin McCloud and the Grand Designs team laughing at us because we went over budget by 150%

The dorkiest thing about us is

Sarah - We truly love each others company so much and are most content when hanging out.

David - We sit and shout at Come Dine with Me. I never used to shout, but now I'm worse than Sarah.

The most spontaneous thing we’ve done

Sarah - Decide to get married during a pandemic, with only 9 months to plan, whilst in complete lockdown!

David - Decide to get a dog.
