Stay in Mayfield, Murray, or Paducah
There are a variety of hotels available in Mayfield. You can also stay in Murray or Paducah if you have access to transportation and don't mind a 30 minute drive. At this time, we do not have any group rates for local hotels.

Q & A
For all our friends and family who have lots of questions, please check out our Q & A first!
Wait...a ceremony AND a reception? On different dates?
Indeed!
What will the reception be like?
There will be some brief remarks, followed by an unstructured evening of games, drinks, snacks, food, jam sessions, and hopefully a bonfire at some point.
When is the RSVP deadline?
None. Please come :)
Can I bring a date?
Gross, but okay. Please RSVP for them.
What should I wear?
For the ceremony, please use your best judgement and wear what feels right to you. People attending the reception are welcome to dress up with the bride and groom, but casual dress is welcome and encouraged. Halloween costumes, Philmont uniforms, and BSA Class A uniforms are also acceptable.
Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?
Our wedding ceremony will be outdoors, but we can move it inside if necessary. Expect the weather to be cool and crisp, but use your judgement. At the reception, you will have the option to be inside or outside at your leisure.
What is the venue like?
The Lodge at Emerald Waters is located on the outskirts of Mayfield, KY, just down the road from where Lee grew up. It's a three-story cabin-style lodge overlooking a lake. The lodge features three large open seating areas, and a spacious two-story outdoor balcony and seating area. For those with accessibility concerns, there will be seating available on the main level.
Is it okay to take pictures with our phones and cameras during the wedding?
Please do! We will have a few designated photographers snapping about, but you are welcome to designate yourself and take as many photos as you want. Please be polite.
Will food be served?
Drinks, apps, and formal dinner will be served at the ceremony. At the reception, we will have self-serve dinner and snacks but no formal meal. Some drinks will be provided at the reception, but we encourage people bring a six pack of beer to share.
Is there transportation being provided between reception and hotels?
We will have some sober drivers both nights, but try to have a plan before you arrive. Ride shares and taxis are available in the area.
Will there be dancing?
There will be music, but no DJ. There will be no formal dance floor, but you can bet there will be dancing.
What is Philmont and why do you mention it all over the place?
Philmont is a high adventure scout ranch owned by the Boy Scouts of America, located in Cimarron, New Mexico in the southern Rocky Mountains. Between us, we spent 13 seasons on that crazy pile of rocks and met some of our best friends in the process. We also met each other in the summer of 2017 and fell in love (gross). Philmont is very special to us and dear to our hearts, and we can't imagine our story being possible without it.
How can I help the couple have the best time during their wedding day?
Have fun, don't be mean to anyone, and tell the bride she looks stunning in her dress.
Tidbits
How did you first meet?
We met at the site of a medical emergency in the Philmont backcountry in 2014. We didn't realize it until three years later in a Wilderness First Responder course when we reconnected.
What was your most memorable date?
At the end of the summer of 2017, we went to Alamogordo, New Mexico to visit White Sands National Monument. We had the time of our lives sledding down the dunes in our bare feet.
What's your favorite activity together?
We love playing video games together. Our favorite is Civilization V, because we are very good at it. Carly loves playing Minecraft and encouraging Lee to build increasingly elaborate buildings and contraptions. Lee likes playing Pokemon Stadium on N64 because he always wins.
Where are you going for your honeymoon?
We are planning to go to Europe sometime after Covid! We plan to put our honeymoon fund into a safe investment so we can enjoy Europe when everything is less crazy. We hope to visit France, England, and maybe Germany.
