Story
Michelle and Tor met the old fashioned way: on "." As a word nerd, Michelle was immediately drawn to Tor's username _nounverber. Tor was drawn to Michelle's love of the movie Ratatouille and her knowledge of cast iron skillet care, which is something he still turns to her for help with. For two days, Michelle and Tor talked about recipes and cooking experiences, favorite books and movies, their dogs, and the various adventures they'd been on around Illinois. They knew they had to meet, and were soon sitting in an airport, waiting for a plane to take them to San Diego, and all of the 14 Paris' around the world. Oh, wait, no no, that was the generic couple on the website. Michelle and Tor actually went to Cafe Ba Ba Reeba.
Tidbits
How did you first meet?
Their first date was actually pretty crazy! After finishing dinner, they went off in search of a bar to continue conversation and jokes. As we searched, a guy jumped out, squealing, wearing an apothecary mask, and followed us for about half a block. Michelle grabbed onto Tor, believing this would be her last night alive. Tor thought Michelle was "playing" the damsel in distress to be cute. Seeing a line at Kingston Mines Blues Bar, Michelle dragged them to the crowd - safety in numbers, after all.
Who made the first move? How?
Michelle did! As Tor got up to go buy another round at Kingston Mines, Michelle grabbed the collar of his shirt and pulled him in for their first kiss. Tor had promised to be a perfect gentleman on the first date. Michelle decided she would not.
Who's going to take out the trash?
Tor does most of the time. Michelle helps now and then. Tor's awesome.
What was your most memorable date?
They spent one of our first dates biking and then kayaking through the sea caves in San Diego. Oh, wait. Nope. That's the generic couple again. Tor agreed to cook Michelle and her cousin Mandi dinner about two weeks into dating. All was going well, until Michelle decided to sneak a bite of arugula that hadn't been washed and still had... well... what farmer's use to help produce grow on it. As you can guess, Michelle got incredibly sick. Tor, however, stayed with Michelle the entire weekend, taking care of her (and the dogs, for her). That was Michelle's first clue that this guy was a keeper.
What's your favorite activity together?
Tor and Michelle love to cook together. Actually, Michelle loves to watch Tor and their good friend Jay cook together. Michelle loves eating what they cook, though. As for Michelle and Tor? They love exploring restaurants around the city, and making picnic baskets and having picnics in the park near our house (see their welcome page picture)!
Where are you going for your honeymoon?
That detail is still in the works, although Europe is a definite. Where in Europe, however, is still up for debate. Italy, Spain, The Czech Republic, and more are up on the list! Any thoughts? Michelle is leaning toward Italy, or jumping around.

Q & A
For all our friends and family who have lots of questions, please check out our Q & A first!
When is the RSVP deadline?
We will be mailing invitations out the first week of August (fingers crossed) and request that you let us know your plans the first week of September.
Can I bring a date?
We want to celebrate with our loved ones, including your significant others. If we've addressed "and guest" then we've planned on you bringing a date or your significant other. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out.
Are kids welcome?
We respectfully request kids stay at home for this one. We love the kiddos in our lives, we cannot stress that enough, however the event will be for adults. Please feel free to reach out with questions or concerns!! We want to help so that everyone can make it to the wedding!
What time should I arrive?
To Miami Beach? Come on down Thursday or Friday! We will be checking in to our hotel Friday, but will be in Miami Beach Thursday.
To the Wedding? We ask that all guests arrive promptly at 5:30 p.m. We want everyone to have enough time to grab a drink and find a seat.
Where should I park?
The Bath Club provides valet services, so drive right on up to the address provided, on us! That's right. We be swanky.
If you are planning on staying with us at one of the hotels, we are currently working on transportation details. The venue is just about 2 and a half miles north of the hotels.
Are the ceremony and reception locations wheelchair accessible?
Yes.
What should I wear?
We're calling it Colorful Cocktail. Let's be real - what does any of it even mean? We're asking that guests wear something that makes them feel fabulous and something they would want to celebrate in. Let's be real, Michelle made sure to pick a dress she was going to be happy wearing all night, so you should get to be comfortable too! In an effort to provide some more... direct guidance for anyone who isn't totally sure what to party it up in, here are some links with ideas, some "Do's and Don't's" (to take with a grain of salt... seriously... wear a long dress if you want...), and some pictures.
What kind of shoes should/shouldn't I wear?
Please don't wear shoes that hurt your feet. We want you dancing! We literally planned our reception around the idea that people should be up and celebrating. However, on that note, you will not be dealing with grass or sand (unless you WANT to walk out to the beach), so heels, flats, dancing shoes, nice sandals, etc. Whatever you feel is appropriate and you are comfortable in that is within the "cocktail attire" realm.
Whom should I call with questions?
Reach out to whomever you are most comfortable and whomever you know best. We are all working together, so if one of us doesn't have the answer immediately, we'll get it for you.
Where should I stay?
We have room blocks at The AC Hotel by Marriott Miami Beach (2912 Collins Ave Miami Beach, FL 786-264-4720) AND at The Miami Beach EDITION 2901 Collins Ave Miami Beach, FL 1-855-725-4538. The best part? They are across the street from each other!! Reserve your room by calling and mentioning that you are with the Horwitz/Bjornrud wedding, or, you can link directly to the hotels respective block reservation pages by clicking the links provided in the Travel section.

Registry
Hey all! We have got the registries up and running! We'll be adding to them as we discover anything we may need to upgrade in the apartment. We have a few kitchen and home items that would really help us make the apartment ours. However, for the most part, we would love help saving up for our honeymoon and our future family. We have opted NOT to set up a honeymoon/future planning fund, because these funds often charge a 2.5% + fee (some sites even charge up to 10%) for cash funds. If you prefer using a secure site, I have set up a PayPal account linked to my savings ( send to michellebjornrud@gmail.com via PayPal). You can send money with no service charge when sending directly from an account (e.g. electronic check). We thank you guys for all of your generosity and for coming out to celebrate our exciting day with us!
