FAQs

For all our friends and family who have lots of questions, please check out our Q & A first!

Will the ceremony and reception be socially distanced?

No, however we ask that our guests be vaccinated or provide a negative COVID test within 48 hours of the event for the safety of our guests.

Are kids welcome?

We love kids, but we're keeping Saturday adults only.

If you'd like to bring your kids, or can't get minders for them but would still like to attend, we'd love you to come to the BBQ on the Sunday instead of coming on the Saturday for the ceremony/reception.

What should we bring?

Mainly just your fine selves and your gear if you're staying. For people attending the second day we may have some fun outdoor events so bring something comfortable that you can get doirty.
We also have a large group of talented musicians among our guestlist - so feel free to bring instruments to jam in the snug.

When is the RSVP deadline?

Please RSVP by April 30th.

What will the weather be like?

We're hoping for leaving cert weather (that means sunny to our friends from abroad), but do bring something warm in case.

I am coming from out of town. Where should I stay?

We have limited rooms available on site at The Millhouse, and in Slane village (Boyne House). If you choose "Yes, I'd like to stay in a room but not camp" on the RSVP, we'll do our best to accommodate you and let you know how to get in touch with either the Millhouse or Boyne House to book. There is also the less limited option of camping on site (or bringing your campervan) which would give you access to the resident's bar (which stays open until 5am), toilets and showers (and no need to get a taxi!).

We're organising a bus back to Dublin city centre at 2am as well if you have somewhere to stay there.

If you indicate your preference for these options on the RSVP, we'll try our best to accommodate you, but if you can organise your own accommodation that would be great.

Where should I park?

There's lots of free parking on site.

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

We're hoping to have the ceremony outdoors (weather permitting), so please bring something warm in case the summer doesn't happen that day :) If it's raining, we'll be having the ceremony in the old mill house inside.

Are the ceremony and reception locations wheelchair accessible?

The ceremony is wheelchair accessible, but there is gravel outside of it so it might be a bit bumpy for wheelchair users. The path to reception has gravel too, but is also wheelchair accessible.

What kind of shoes should/shouldn't I wear?

There is gravel and uneven grass to walk on, as well as dancing later, so wear comfy ones if you can.

Is it okay to take pictures with our phones and cameras during the wedding?

We'll have a professional photographer, so we're asking people not to take photos during the ceremony. Feel free to take photos on the dance floor though!

Whom should I call with questions?

You can call Sinead (0861901946) or Dean (0830214972)

What time should I arrive?

The ceremony starts at 3pm so the ideal time to arrive would be around 2.45pm.

Will there be dancing?

Lots!! You can request songs through the RSVP.

What should/could I do between the ceremony and the reception?

There will be canapes between the ceremony and the reception, but we'd recommend you eat some lunch before the ceremony if you get hungry easily!

What should I wear?

We don't have a particular dress code, so you can dress semi formal. The bridal party and groom will be wearing green.

Will there be any activities happening that I need to know about?

We're going to try and get a swim in on the Sunday, and maybe even some softball if the weather is nice. So if you want to take part, bring swimmers and comfortable clothes + shoes!

Is there a gifts registry?

There isn't a gifts registry because at the moment we wouldn't have anywhere to put physical gifts! We're in the process of looking for a new bigger place, so until then, monetary gifts or experiences (e.g., cooking class, arts class vouchers) would be greatly appreciated - thank you.
