Sofia and Kevin's love story starts in church, something they feel is the foundation of their relationship. They both served in the music ministry; Sofia on the violin and Kevin on guitar. They were friends for a year and slowly developed more romantic feelings for one another.

It was easy to see how well they got along with each other. Whether it was Kevin making his corny jokes or Sofi making faces, joy was in their relationship. They started looking for hole-in-the-wall restaurants, local beer breweries and Rockets games as their more enjoyable pastimes.

After 3 years together and carefully planning with family members on both sides, Kevin decided to pop the question. He took her on a local mural tour of street artists knowing she had been wanting to do fun poses with pieces of art. On the final mural, the tour guide revealed a cinder block decorated by a local artist which read, "Sofia ma cherie...will you marry me?" As Sofi became overwhelmed with the text, Kevin slowly took a knee and the rest is history.
