Story

Tidbits

Who is Curtis Burnett?

Curtis Burnett is a true Renaissance Man. He is a reknown author of the book "Eve's Warriors and the Three Nephites", which is now available on Amazon. And yet, there is so much more to this man! He once, as a reporter with the Deseret News, did a personal interview with President Nixon while aboard Air Force One! (Seriously, I'll let him tell the story!) He also has served as Vice President at Questar, News Director for a US Senator, former Chair of the Utah Food Bank, Public Relations head, and is newly adding Horsemanship to his extensive resume! Curtis is the proud father of 7 beloved children, and 17 adorable grandchildren.

Who is Stacylyn Bennett

Curtis calls her an Also Renaissance Woman, which is why they are a perfect match! Stacylyn worked as a professional Opera Singer in NYC and Europe; and is now a working Film Actress and All Around Entertainer. She once bragged the ability to hold her breath through the Chesapeake Channel (Tunnel)... but isn't sure she can still do that now. She has most recently starred in several films: ASHES (starring opposite James Duval) which is not released yet; and CITY OF SALT (winner of 27 awards nationally and internationally) which is currently available to viewers on Amazon Prime.

How did you first meet?

Actually, we first "met" over the phone. Curtis was having lunch with Michael Flynn when Michael called me and asked me if he could introduce me to his best friend. I said I wouldn't mind, so he put Curtis on the phone. After a brief and delightful chat, we promised to meet up for dinner in a few days time. That first date took place at the Foundry Grill.

Who made the first move? How?

He made the first move when asked his best friend to set us up. A few days later, we had plans for dinner that week.

Who's going to take out the trash?

Whoever happens to be closer to the trash! Although technically, Curtis promised to do it. :-)

What was your most memorable date?

April 8th, 2021 - Hahaha, that's when he took me hiking to Arches National Park. I particularly loved the Garden of Eden where Curtis got down on a knee and proposed to me. We had also met up with my sister Angie who was hiking there with her family - Kaitlynn, Kamryn, & Kamryn's best friend Beth. They knew ahead of time and filmed everything... thank you Angie!!! Afterwards we hiked up to Delicate Arch and took some amazing photos. Favs were all of us jumping for joy while under the Delicate Arch, and also our dancing photo after scaling a sheer wall to pose in a cave in the wall. BEST PHOTOS EVER!

What's your favorite activity together?

Watching movies, nature hikes, horseback riding, and pontificating on exact meanings in the American lexicon.

Where are you going for your honeymoon?

Curtis and I aim to make each other's dreams come true, starting with a few days in beautiful Park City, and then an exciting week at the C Lazy U Ranch where we get paired with our own horses and ride all over the Colorado mountains. I can't tell you how excited we are!!! Hawaii can be for next year. :-D

What's the best meal you have eaten together?

Hahaha, gotta say it was dinner at The Foundry - Sundance Summer Resort. The food was crazy good, and the atmosphere was just magical. Highly recommended!

What's the most memorable trip you have taken together?

Spending Valentine's Day in St George at the Red Mountain Resort. I was uncomfortable with the idea of traveling with someone I was dating, so he got us 2 separate suites at the resort... and picked me up like a date all beautiful weekend long. The red rocks, the beautiful nature, and horseback riding in the mountains. Dinners with local friends, and then a perfect spa day to sort out the sore muscles. Really, my best Valentines ever!

We’re on the same page about

We are on the same page about so many things! But what's important to us is: spending time with our extended family, and all the people we love most. (You all!)

A life goal of ours

Create an album of beautifully arranged Mormon hymns.
*
Make a film that Curtis writes, based on ... well, you'll see!
*
Working with love to continually bless our families, friends, & community.

The most spontaneous thing we’ve done

Um, getting married?! Hahaha!

The dorkiest thing about us is

We love vocabulary and speech! We had an entire discussion for hours on the subject of what is the difference between Quandary, Conundrum, and Dilemma. Turns out, a Quandary is when you have multiple choices to choose from. A Conundrum is when one must puzzle out the choices. A Dilemma is when there are absolutely no good choices... all the choices are terrible ones. So we can now say with confidence that choosing a good new home was a Quandary, planning the wedding was a Conundrum, and voting in the election was a Dilemma.

A social cause we care about

Honoring warrior women, supporting and giving love to our LGBTQ neighbors, taking care of our US Veterans, and finding good solid homes for orphans.

We are regulars at

"Come Follow Me" program (Sundays with family). Also seeking new adventures and embracing them!

Teach us something about

How to garden. We have a yard now, and I'm terrified I'm going to look at the plants and they won't survive me.

We take pride in

We want to find a good way to help others and spread joy. Plans pending...

Q & A

For all our friends and family who have lots of questions, please check out our Q & A first!

When is the RSVP deadline?

Please RSVP by May 21st, so we can have an accurate headcount. :) The RSVPs can be done on our website home page (see RSVP button). We are also collecting mailing addresses for our Thank You cards, which info you can include via the website RSVP page. If you have any problems with our website (heaven forbid!), you can also text your RSVP notice and mailing address to (917) 239-4255.

Can I bring a date?

Yes! We support our singles dating!! All are welcome to the 6:30 PM Reception Party. There are limited seats at the 5:30 PM Wedding Ceremony, so please RSVP to make sure there will be room.

Are kids welcome?

Absolutely. But please instruct the more rambunctious ones to respect the property at our wedding. Wadley Farms is such a beautiful place, and we need to make sure we leave it in the same condition. The party will offer dinner, dancing, sparklers, and hopefully some fun games (plans pending). However our grownup games and conversation might not be so entertaining to very young children. Even so, all children are welcome, and we will love to film their adorableness in our wedding photos and videos.

What will the weather be like?

It will be perfect Utah spring weather... I predict it! Probably cold in the early morning around 54°, warming up to between 69°-76° during the sunlight hours, and then dipping back down in the low 60s after dark towards the end of our party. We do have use of the Barn should it surprise rain that day, but rain is not expected.

Where should I park?

There is plenty of free parking at both entrances of the venue.

Are the ceremony and reception locations wheelchair accessible?

Absolutely YES

What should I wear?

Come red carpet ready! The Wedding Party will not be wearing Tuxes, but have opted for nice light-grey suits for the Groomsmen, and light long chiffon dresses (pastel colors) for the Bridesmaids. Guests can wear Cocktail dress or Sunday dress (will look really nice in our wedding videos and photos), or come looking fashionably chic showing off your own style! Be comfortable though, as there will be dancing!

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

Our wedding ceremony is indoors, and our reception dinner will be outdoors in the garden. We do have use of the beautiful Barn if the weather pushes us to shelter. :)

What kind of shoes should/shouldn't I wear?

We suggest bringing comfortable shoes. You can wear those gorgeous Louboutin's and Gucci's, but as there will be dancing outside in grassy areas you might wish to also bring some comfortable shoes as well!

Is it okay to take pictures with our phones and cameras during the wedding?

Yes absolutely! We would love for you to take photos and share them on the app WithJoy. But please immediately erase the really terrible ones!

Whom should I call with questions?

Please text or call our our lovely maid of honor Rachael with any questions at (801) 471-9351. Or feel free to email her at rachaelannbennett@gmail.com.

*

You also can reach the bride at stacylynbennett@hotmail.com and she will do her best to get back to you! However please note that closer to her wedding date, she will probably not be able to check her emails.

*

For RSVPs, please do so on this website. The RSVP button is found on the home page. If you have problems with the website, you can text your RSVP notice to (917) 239-4255.

Registry

Your presence is enough of a present to us!

But for those of you who are stubborn, these are a few items we plan to purchase for ourselves after the wedding. We have the means to get these items ourselves, yet if you wanted to contribute we won't stop you, hahaha!

Really though, we don't want anyone stressing out to get us gifts. We really do love you and want you to come, relax, share the gift of your being here with us, and have a wonderful carefree time at our party.

Love,

Curtis & Stacylyn

Travel

Plane

Getting In

We recommend flying into Salt Lake City International Airport - SLC

Car

Getting Downtown

There aren't a lot of ways to get into downtown Lindon!

Wadley Farms is about a 45 minutes drive south of the airport, and we would suggest renting a car.

Or if you are feeling more adventurous, the Frontrunner rail is only a few dollars and an hour ride into Utah County. From the Airport you can take the TRAX Shuttle (Green Line) to North Temple Station, then transfer to the Front Runner Train. Get off at the American Fork Station, and then either taxi to your destination (about $25), OR call/text Rachael Bennett at (801) 471-9351, and she will arrange for someone to come pick you up.

Note

Summer in Utah has become very popular. Please make your reservations as soon as possible.

Summer in Utah has become very popular. Please make your reservations as soon as possible. Also, take advantage of our gorgeous natural sites. Bring your hiking shoes and come explore Utah while here.
