Story
Mitch and I met four years ago through some of our best friends. I was in Johnson City visiting my high school bestie Lindsay who was determined to find me a man for the weekend. She got with David, who was having a bonfire at his house and they decided on setting me up with Mitch. Mitch originally said no because he had a basketball game but ended up changing his mind after David sent Mitch a picture of me.
My first impression of mitch was that he was cute and quiet (boy, was I wrong). He took his beanie off and I thought to myself “oh no, he’s bald” (again, I was wrong). To all of you out there, he is NOT bald....yet! I remember having a great night at the bonfire. Mitch and I talked for hours that night and I remember having a weird feeling that this might be something more one day.
We ended up spending nearly the entire weekend together, except for when he ditched me for some cows that got loose. I also remember feeling sad when the weekend was over (WEIRD, right?).
Little did I know, there wasn’t going to be another day go by without us talking to each other. We met each other’s parents a few weeks later and so began our long distance relationship. Driving back and forth from Johnson City to Memphis and Memphis to Johnson City after work on Fridays only to spend 24 hours with each other before driving back home on Sundays. Mitch finally moved to Memphis in July 2018 and got himself a roommate (Nala). We moved in together a year later on Mud Island downtown Memphis. In 2020, we got ourselves a pandemic puppy and ended up moving back home (for me) to Murfreesboro. We bought a house by the end of the year and Mitch proposed on April 30th.
We may have not done things in the most traditional order but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I think it is safe to say we are two of the luckiest humans in the world to have each other, our house and our pups! ❤️
