Story

Steph and Tim met through mutual friends Christina and Harris who had just started dating themselves. All four of them happened to be at Palomino, a pool hall in downtown Gainesville. When Steph first saw Tim, she thought, “Oh wow, he’s cute. Is he an architect?” He wasn’t, but he was one of the best amateur pool players in town. When Tim first saw Stephanie, he thought “Who’s that fiery redhead talking to someone I know?” Tim approached the group and invited Stephanie to a barbecue that weekend, but she was out of town and couldn’t make it.

They went their separate ways, until they ran into each other at Palomino again a few weeks later. Tim asked Steph to dinner, promising to take her to one of the best sushi places in town. (He was right.) A month later, they moved in together and spent that summer and summers since at the beach, the pool hall and the karaoke bar, surrounded by music, love and the laughter of their closest friends and family.

Tidbits

How did you first meet?

Steph and Tim met through mutual friends at Palomino, a pool hall in downtown Gainesville.

Who made the first move? How?

Tim made the first move when he invited Stephanie to a BBQ. (Fun fact: He wasn't having a BBQ, he just needed a reason to ask her out. Luckily, Steph couldn't make it so Tim didn't have to go through the trouble of creating one.)

Who's going to take out the trash?

Tim. (Is this binding? Asking for a friend.)

What was your most memorable date?

Before we moved to Tampa, we took one last weekend getaway to St. Augustine. The town was strangely empty for the summer, and it felt like the streets were ours. We walked around downtown, through side streets, visiting shops and museums.

What's your favorite activity together?

We love to play pool, rummy and music!

Where are you going for your honeymoon?

TBD

What's the most memorable trip you have taken together?

Last fall, we spent a week in the Keys, lobstering, boating, snorkeling, paddleboarding and eating a lot of seafood!
