Story
We connected on a dating app and had our first date at an Ethiopian restaurant in Montclair on May 8, 2019. That night, we discovered we have so much in common, including our favorite brands of hummus. Also, Ale got a parking ticket. We had so much fun that we decided to go on a second date the very next day!
There were early obstacles: Ale was about to leave for a ten-day vacation in Hawaii, and Todd had plans to leave for a summer in the Berkshires shortly after Ale's return. Nevertheless, we made it work!
A year later, when the pandemic hit, we had the unexpected opportunity to move in together. We got a new apartment and adopted our amazing (and needy) dog, Lila!
We got engaged on September 25, 2020 at the same restaurant where we had our first date! On November 8, 2020, we had an intimate civil wedding ceremony with immediate family in Jersey City.

What was your most memorable date?
We had a karaoke night at home during the pandemic. Ale won the Best Performance award for her version of "Chopsuey" by System of a Down. Todd did his best at singing Colombian vallenatos. No, you cannot see the videos.
What's your favorite activity together?
We love walking Lila to the park!
Where are you going for your honeymoon?
Anywhere with beautiful mountains! Maybe a road trip on the West Coast.
What's the best meal you have eaten together?
The best meal we ate together was Ethiopian food on our first date!
