Story
It was a hot summer's eve on the Thursday before Riverboat Days when a group of misfits gathered at the Thornhill Pub for an evening of karaoke. Sandwiched between a blind date gone wrong and a friendly tag-along, both Alicia and Tristan seemed to have little effect on each other. Later that weekend, nearly the same group of sun-kissed faces gathered in the kitchen of the Moose Knuckle gorging on a buffet of tacos while Alicia was on a quest to find the 'boy in the blue shirt'. This, however, was not the blue shirt robed boy named Tristan.
A few weeks later they connected for a first date and they grew their fire as they laughed and smiled so much their cheeks ached. Alicia found herself in the middle of a tug-of-war between a once familiar life in Victoria and a new adventure in Terrace. On their first road trip they snuck in and out of the panhandle of Alaska to adore the beauty of the Salmon Glacier. Day old pizza on the dashboard and the crags of the Hwy 37A in the rear-view, the tug-of-war had been won.

Q & A
For all our friends and family who have lots of questions, please check out our Q & A first!
Can I bring a date?
Please check your invite for your +1!
Where should I park?
There is plenty of free parking near the reception area. We will have signs posted showing you where you can park. We ask you not to park near the main lodge as we would like to keep this area clear for the reception. We will also have signs posted from the start of the highway to the venue.
Are kids welcome?
As much as we love your little ones, we will not be including them in the ceremony or reception. However, we recognize that some of you will be traveling with your kids, so please reach out to us directly and we can discuss the options on a case by case basis if you cannot find other accommodations for them. Please let us know if you have questions!
What will the weather be like?
Welcome to Northern BC, all of you out-of-towners! The weather here has a mind of its own sometimes. We are hoping the weather cooperates for us on our special day, but we recommend coming prepared. It does like to rain in June. We also recommend bringing some warm layers for the evening.
Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?
Our wedding ceremony is outdoors with our reception being held in a 100 year old barn. We recommend bringing some warm layers for the evening as it will cool off later in the day.
Is it okay to take pictures with our phones and cameras during the wedding?
Yes! We would love for you to take photos and share them with us. We do ask that you try to refrain from taking photos during the ceremony as we would rather have everyone be present during that intimate time and not worry about catching the perfect photo (we've hired a professional for that)
Please upload photos to our google album:

What is the bar situation like?
The bar will be by donation.
Is there a gifts registry?
You taking the time to travel and celebrate our special day with us is thanks enough!
If you still feel the need to give, we would love for you to make a donation to the Habitat Conservation Trust Fund, or for those of you who like a little adventure, we suggest lacing up your boots and becoming a volunteer!
Is there transportation being provided between reception and hotels?
We will not be offering a shuttle service from your hotel rooms to the venue, however, will be providing a safe ride program for the night of our wedding to ensure that all of our guests get to enjoy their night and make it back to their accommodations safely. The shuttle service will run from 8pm until 12am
What time will the reception end?
We wish we could party hard with all of you until the wee hours of the morning, however we will have to shut things down by 12am. The last call for the bar will be 11pm.
I am coming from out of town. Where should I stay?
Check out our Travel page! We have provided some recommendations on hotels and Airbnb's in the Smithers area. We have also suggested things to do in the surrounding areas and some good places to eat.
What if I have a dietary restriction?
We realize each and everyone of you is special, so we have worked very hard with our caterer to create a menu that we feel will provide the best options to suit everyone's individual needs.
Whom should I call with questions?
If you have looked through our website and the Q&A section and still have some unanswered questions, please don't hesitate to contact us directly!
Are there any colors that guests should avoid wearing?
We ask guests to try and avoid wearing the color burgundy as that is our bridal party colors :)
Travel
Flying In
We recommend for those coming just for the weekend, to fly into the Smithers airport.
If you're planning to stay longer, we live in Terrace and also have an airport with direct flights from Calgary and Vancouver.
Getting Around!
Smithers has only one rental car company, so we recommend making sure to book in advance if you are needing wheels to get around town. There is also a taxi/shuttle company in town as well.
