Guide to San Francisco City Hall
Here are some quick tips for planning your city hall ceremony that might also help you narrow down a wedding date.
For weekdays or weekend weddings, full evening weddings allow you to have your wedding ceremony on the Grand Staircase, followed by cocktails in the North Light Court, and wedding reception in the Rotunda. There is also an option for private rooms.
On Saturdays, the two-hour wedding package offers use of the Grand Staircase of the Rotunda.
And on weekdays, there are ceremony appointments available every half-hour for the one-hour package, which includes a private ceremony in either the Mayor's Balcony or the Fourth Floor Gallery.
For any of these, you'll want to get your marriage license by making a license appointment with the county clerk's office. You can schedule an officiant through the county clerk's office, or one of your family or friends can be your officiant. When the day comes for your civil ceremony, you can check in about 10-15 minutes prior to your ceremony time slot. And of course, be sure to check out the SF City Hall website for the latest details.
