Note

Getting there

Our venue, Kings Chapel (pictured), is set behind the Kings Arms Hotel in Old Amersham, Buckinghamshire.

*Day Guests* Please aim to arrive at between 12pm and 12.30pm. The ceremony will start at 1pm.

*Evening Guests* Please aim to arrive no earlier than 7pm.

By Car:
There is free parking onsite for 30 cars, which is probably best reserved for people staying overnight at the hotel.

There are a further 45 spaces at The Crown Hotel, which is a 1 minute walk away. It is part of the same hotel group so you may leave your car there overnight, provided you leave a number plate at reception.

Alternatively there is free parking on the street outside, or you can also park a five minute walk away at Amersham Old Town car park (located off The Broadway, HP7 0HL) for £4 for a day.

By Train:
Alternatively, Amersham railway station is less than five minutes by taxi to the venue. It is Zone 9 (yes, really!) and is accessible by the Metropolitan Line and on Chiltern Railways.

There is more information about how to get to the venue here:

Where should I park?

There is free parking onsite for 30 cars, which is probably best reserved for people staying overnight at the hotel.

There are a further 45 spaces at The Crown Hotel, which is a 1 minute walk away. It is part of the same hotel group so you may leave your car there overnight, provided you leave a number plate at reception.

Alternatively there is free (fairly limited) parking on the street outside, or you can also park a five minute walk away at Amersham Old Town car park (located off The Broadway, HP7 0HL) for £4 for a day.

Please visit the 'Travel' section of our website for more information about getting to the venue.

Is the ceremony and reception at the same venue?

Yes - the ceremony and reception will all take place at the Kings Chapel, which is set just behind the Kings Arms Hotel, Old Amersham, so you can sleep there, too!

Visit the 'Travel' section of our website for more information about accommodation.

Is my room already booked?

If you, or we, held a room for you for our original date then your booking has been transferred to our new date and your room is all sorted. If you want to double check, please call the venue (01494 725722) and quote 'Walter Wedding'. You will need to give your card details to hold a room but can pay on the day.

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

The wedding ceremony will be indoors but the venue also has a lovely garden, so we hope to be able to enjoy the outdoors too. You can get a better idea of the venue by visiting:

Will there be dancing?

ABSOLUTELY

Will the ceremony and reception be socially distanced?

We really hope not! We want our big day to be full of hugging and dancing, without any face masks or social distancing. But if 2020 taught us anything, it's that there's always the chance that things won't go to plan (!) and so we will continue to monitor the news as things lift, and be in touch again if anything changes.

How late will the bar be open?

The bar typically shuts at midnight. But we have been able to extend this to 2am for those of us still going!

What if I have a dietary restriction?

Please let us know if you have any dietary restrictions when you RSVP.

Can we bring our children?

Unfortunately, as much as we'd love to have our friend's children there, we can only accommodate for close family. We hope you understand and that you will still be able to join us on our special day.

Is there a gifts registry?

Your presence at our wedding is gift enough, but if you do wish to buy us something, a contribution towards our dream honeymoon (whenever possible!) would be massively appreciated. You can do this with cash on the day or online here - prezola.com/wishlists/10240529/

I'm an evening guest. What time should I arrive?

Please aim to arrive no earlier than 7pm

Am I a day guest or an evening guest?

As much as we'd have liked to everyone there for the whole day, we're quite restricted with day guest numbers and may be forced to cut this further, if coronavirus restrictions don't lift in the way we hope. It should be clear from your invite if you are a day or an evening guest. But if you're not sure, please just ask!

Whom should I call with questions?

If you have any other questions ahead of the big day, please don't hesitate to give us a call on 07879875981 or email laura.routledge@hotmail.com / steve_walter@hotmail.co.uk
