Meredith and William first met in Siebert Hall, an Honors dorm on south campus of our Alma mater, The Ohio State University. Meredith lived in a quad at the end of all-female third floor, while William resided just below on the all-guy second floor. William had admired Meredith from afar, knowing nothing about her except that she was valedictorian, thanks to one of her high school friends (and his mechanical engineering classmate) who informed him of this during their late night study sessions in the Siebert lobby. Meanwhile, groomsman JP Gipson paid frequent visits to Meredith's quad--bridesmaid Sara Kushner was eager to give him chores during these routine visits, volunteering him to do fun tasks like scraping gunk off their windows--and William saw the quad only when he would come in to retrieve JP. Their freshman years progressed onward in parallel, and only finally truly intersected when Meredith made the first move!

One day JP was outside Siebert graciously helping Meredith to fix her bike (another chore). William walked by on his way back from OUAB, and Meredith hatched a plan for the two of them to go running in the morning. Numbers were exchanged, and a meet time was set. Unfortunately, that run never happened the next morning as Meredith neglected to set an alarm. However, the run did eventually happen, and William and Meredith became casual friends. Only a year later could William admit to her that he was stood up; he actually HAD been waiting down in the lobby for her (after originally telling her he had slept through his alarm too).

As their friendship continued, Meredith was even so kind as to set William up with one of her Chi Omega sorority sisters for spring formal (maybe she just wanted to spend some more time in his presence!). Over the next year, William and Meredith had little face time but exchanged many long texts and eventually saw each other at different places such as bridesmaid Brooke Chamber's house. From there, the relationship blossomed quickly; their relationship really took off when William took a leap of faith and drove up to Cleveland where Meredith was interning so that they could drive with Claire Myerscough over to Philadelphia (where they would later live for a year after college graduation!) and hop on a bus to New York City. During William’s first NYC trip, the two did much sightseeing and attended an incredible Justin Timberlake/Jay Z concert at Yankee Stadium. Meredith had not revealed to her cousins where they were staying at Office Ops exactly who William was to her, but after a successful NYC adventure it because increasingly clear that they loved spending time together and seemed to fit all the criteria of couplehood…

To bring things full circle, on March 5th, 2016 Meredith and William once again took a bus from Philadelphia to Manhattan. This time, William swept Meredith off her feet (literally later that day, when he took her on her first helicopter ride!) with a Bachelor-esque proposal on the roof of Office Ops.

The rest is really history, but after an exhilarating first year out of college living the yo-pro life in Philadelphia while Meredith was working for J.P. Morgan Chase and William was starting his career with Accenture, the two made the tough decision to relocate back to William’s hometown of Cincinnati so that Meredith could attend medical school. They now live in Cincinnati close to the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine...and even happen to have two sibling kittens, Hazelnut & Cashew.
