Q & A

First, the FAQ.

Where is the ceremony?

The Studios at Overland Crossing
2205 South Delaware Street, Denver, CO 80223

What time is the ceremony?

6pm with a cocktail hour and the reception following the ceremony. Ring in the new year with us! Party goes until 2am!

When is the RSVP deadline?

Please RSVP by November 15th!

Can I bring a date?

Yep! Please do! Just when you RSVP please include his/her name!

Are kids welcome?

Because this is also a New Year's Eve party, we are asking that you leave the kiddos at home so you can cut loose and have some grown-up fun! There are a few children that Zach and Alison have personally invited to the ceremony and dinner, and even they have a curfew. Once it's 10:00pm, it's adults only, baby!

In other words, if we have not personally reached out for your child to join us, congrats! You get to partake in a parenting-free night! Grab a drink and join us on the dance floor!

Where should I park?

There is plenty of free parking at the Studios at Overland Crossing! That said, it is very important to Zach and Alison that everyone make safe choices when it comes to transportation.

So instead of driving, please consider:
- Taking the Denver Light Rail, which is typically free on New Years Eve from 7pm through 7am New Years Day! (Our venue is right off the Evans stop AND many of our recommended hotels are off the light rail as well! Huzzah!)
- Taking a Lyft, Uber, or taxi service to and from our venue.
(You can download the Lyft and Uber apps on your smartphone or our use the following cab companies: Yellow Cab 303.777.7777, Metro Taxi 303.333.3333.)
- Taking the complimentary hotel shuttle should you stay at the Holiday Day Inn - Cherry Creek.

See? So many options!

In short, PLEASE DO NOT DRINK AND DRIVE. Party with us and then get home safe!

Can I get directions please?

We'd LOVE it if you didn't drive yourself (see above), but if you need directions for your lyft or uber driver, here you go!

From I-25 & Evans: Go west (toward the mountains) on Evans Avenue. Just past Broadway, veer right (do not go over the bridge!) on the frontage road. At the stop sign, which is Delaware Street, turn left. The venue is a block south on the right. Parking is in the lot and on the street.

From I-25 & Broadway: Get off at Evans and turn east. Turn right at the first street after the bridge, which is S. Bannock Street. Turn right on W. Warren Avenue. Turn left on S. Delaware Street and the venue is on the right. Parking is in the lot and on the street.

What time should I arrive?

The ceremony is at 6pm. Because of Colorado weather and Denver New Years Eve festivities, we recommend you try to leave a little earlier than you normally would for a 6pm call time, just in case. (Check out that TV lingo. Call time.)

What should I wear?

Wear what you want to wear out on New Years Eve! Get gussied up or wear jeans! We don't care! Just wear whatever makes you feel awesome on New Years. We will be wearing a white dress and a suit. ;)

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

Outdoors? Are you crazy? It's winter in Colorado and we now live in LA full time. Brrrr. No way! Indoors, dudes. Indoors.

What time will the reception end?

2am!

I am coming from out of town. Where should I stay?

We have rooms blocked off at hotels with varying price points in the Downtown Denver and Cherry Creek area. Check out the "Travel section" of this website for hotel block details!

If you'd prefer to find your own Airbnb or hotel, we recommend staying at a place near the Denver Light Rail. Our venue is right off the Evans stop so it's easy transportation and should be free on New Years Eve. Also, for searching purposes, our venue is in the Overland/Cherry Creek neighborhood, near the University of Denver.

Is there a gifts registry?

Gifts? For us? Oh, we didn't...

You bet there is, pal! We've set up a Honeyfund to help us with our Hawaiian honeymoon. Also on that site we have a small Macy's registry. For more info check out the "Registry" page on this website!

Does your wedding have a theme?

Um, New Years Eve Super Fun Time?

Will food be served?

Yes. Lots of it.

Will there be dancing?

Dancing has been outlawed in this town. Unless you want to cut loose. Footloose. JK - YEAH THERE WILL BE DANCING.

How can I help the couple have the best time during their wedding day?

We are just so excited to have everyone we love in one big room. So, you know, just come be in the big room with us!

Will last names be changing after the wedding?

Nah.

I want to see your engagement photos! Where can I find them?

They are posted here on this website. On the left side of the screen there is a menu button. Click on it and the engagement photos are under the tab "Photos." (Taken by our good friend Will Wernick.)

Can I get all this info on my phone somehow?

Yep! You can download the Joy App! Details on how to download are in the "Get Our App" section. Now you can have all the wedding details right in your pocket!

I have a question not answered here; how do I contact you?

Don't! Instead please email Kim or Chelsea, our super cool wedding planners. Their emails are:

Tidbits

How did you first meet?

While we sort of knew each other growing up in Longmont and attended the same high school, we didn't really "meet" until the summer of 2006, when Alison's brothers invited her and her ASU bestie Lauren to a party at a Boulder apartment. The apartment belonged to Zach and his buddy James, and the "party" was more a bunch of dudes sitting around drinking beer. Everyone was 21 but Alison and Lauren, so when the dudes decided to go bar hopping, Zach and Alison's brother Mike were nice enough to hang back and play games with the two 19 year olds. At some point, Zach and Alison began to flirt without Alison's brother noticing.

Who made the first move?

A debate for the ages! But he/she did. Definitely.

What challenges has your relationship faced?

Well, first Zach had to make sure it was okay with Michael and Brian that he took out Little Tafel.

Then there was the long distance thing. First it was between CU and ASU for three years. Then it was two more years of distance between Western Washington University and Chicago Second City. We liked each other more than not being together, but, like, distance is hard ya'll. Really hard.

Finally, there was LA living. Los Angeles is a hard town to succeed in. Once we moved here in 2012, we knew Zach was going to be the meal ticket, while Alison was the lottery ticket. Without Zach's support, there is no way Alison could have had her career dreams come true.

And we made it through! Persevered! Now let's celebrate and get married and prepare for future challenges!

What was your most memorable date?

After five years of long distance, Alison and Zach celebrated Alison's 25th birthday with a romantic weekend in Denver. It was at dinner on Saturday, December 3rd, 2011 that Zach told Alison he wanted to move with her to Los Angeles, ending their long distance once and for all. To Alison, that was better than any proposal. Best. Night. Ever.

What's your favorite activity together?

Exploring new places with our trusty mascot, Crittendon, playing games, getting really into movies and good TV, working out, petting our cats, hiking, eating, and tasting beer.

How did he propose?

It was a weekend away in San Fransisco, Cinco de Mayo, 2017. After a full day of sightseeing, including being soaked from a boat cruise, drenched in spray sunscreen, and layered in hoodies and rain gear, Zach stopped Alison at a pier and got down on one knee. It was a beautiful, romantic gesture, even if at the moment they both looked like they just survived a hurricane. After 11 years together, Alison was stupidly shocked. (Remember, she felt 2011 was the "proposal" commitment, but an actual ring? And an actual wedding? SHOCKED.)

What's the most memorable trip you have taken together?

Backpacking through Europe in 2009. Oh, and the San Fran trip. Doy.

What do you hope for in your wedding?

We've been together a long time. All we want to do is celebrate and party.
