Story
We don’t really remember the first time we saw each other, and we didn’t have one miraculous moment, but rather a slow knitting together of our hearts. Our families have known each other a decade now, and been friends in different capacities that whole time. We always thought the other was nice to look at, and interesting to be around, but an age difference kept us from the thought of pursuing one another.
Megan, his sister-in-law, my friend and bridesmaid, told me at an event she “called dibs” on me for Zane, and thankfully those dibs somehow worked! We did a year of out-of-state long distance, flying back and forth, plans on hold because of a pandemic, shifting life, learning intentional communication, giving lots of grace. We’ve done many months of shorter, much more manageable in-state long distance, driving tons of miles, learning to love each other more through exhaustion and frustrations, and walking through uncertainty. We are so thankful the Lord has brought us to this point. We are also so excited to share it with people who have poured in to our lives, both as individuals, and as a couple, for a long time.
