Sometimes you need to spread the word fast. Maybe the ceremony time changed, the RSVP deadline is coming up, or there’s rain in the forecast (we see you, outdoor weddings). With Joy, you can send a message to everyone or just a few tagged groups in the blink of an eye. It’s quick, personal, and delivered straight to their inbox.
How to send an email
From your Event Dashboard, click Messaging.
Choose a template such as Reminder Email or General Message.
Click Edit Email to personalize it, add your flair, opt to include guest name(s), and adjust until you’re happy.
Hit Save.
Click Next in the lower left corner, then Select Guests to choose who should receive it.
You can search for specific names or use the Select All checkbox if you’re emailing everyone. When everyone is selected, click Done.
And now, the grand finale! Click Send Now, and your message is on its way to your eager guests.
What your guests will see
Your guests receive the email with their name in the greeting (if you included it) and your event photo displayed at the top. If you’ve grouped a couple or a family under one email address, everyone will be addressed in the email.
Notice how Emily is the only guest in the group with an email address listed on the guest list, but the email is addressed to Emily and Richard
Track Your Sends
Once you send your message, a tracking page opens that shows all of the sent emails. Click View Details to see who it was sent to and to view the sent email.
Want to know who opened your email, or who still hasn’t? Check the Last Email Status column in your Guest List. It shows which guests opened the message, which didn’t, and who might need a gentle follow-up.
Using Tags
Not every message is for every guest. Maybe you’re emailing only rehearsal-dinner invitees, or a select brunch group. Use Guest Tags to filter and target your message recipients easily. You can create and assign tags ahead of time and then select only those tagged guests when sending your email. You can learn more about assigning and using tags here.
