Q & A

For all our friends and family who have lots of questions, please check out our Q & A first!

When is the RSVP deadline?

Please RSVP by August 10, 2023.

Will there be a wedding ceremony?

Jake and Kelly are getting married in a very small chapel in Hayward on September 23rd. Due to the size of the chapel, only immediate family are attending the ceremony.

Why Hayward, WI?

Hayward has been a special place for Kelly her whole life. "The Cottage" has been in the McDermid family for four generations. Throughout our time together as a couple we have enjoyed both our summers and winters at the lake enjoying the escape from busy city life. This past year we purchased the family property and have begun to make it our own. This area is filled with memories and time spent in the outdoors and we are so excited to share it with our favorite people.

Are kids welcome?

As much as we love your little nuggets, we will not be including them in the ceremony or reception, we want our wedding to be your night off!

I am coming from out of town. Where should I stay?

Please check the Travel Page for accommodations. Note that we are located on Lac Courte Oreilles.

Will there be an open bar?

Duh! The drinks are on us and the hangover is on you so get ready to celebrate!

Will there be an after party?

Yes! Guests are welcome to join us at The Steakhouse and Lodge bar (connected to the reception space) after the reception. The bar will remain open until the last guest leaves and will be a cash bar.

Any recommendations for things to do in the area?

Angler's Haven is a family favorite for food and drinks on LCO. Trails End on LCO is great to sit and have a drink on the water and play some sand volley ball. Grab a coffee from The Whistle Punk in Stone Lake. Stroll down Main Street in down town Hayward. Feel free to reach out to Kelly and Jake with any questions, we want you to enjoy this special place just as much as we do!!
