Story
Working security at a Bible College was a relatively uneventful job with good people and a good community. Little did I know that an ordinary September day would turn out to be so life changing.
Addie had brought her car to the mechanic to have it worked on and drove her dad's truck in the mean time. She parked it in the garage at school as she had so many times before not thinking about the size of the vehicle she now drove. She went to class as usual, listening to her teachers, and thinking about the interview she had later that afternoon.
The final class bell rang, and she made her way out to the parking garage only to find that she couldn't get out. The lot was packed and another truck parked right across from her. Determined to get out she pulled forward and backward, turned a little this way and turned a little that way, but to no avail. Finally, she admitted she needed help.
Addie walked back into school, across the length of the auditorium and saw a security guard, Jeff. He soon became a mutual friend between the two of us, and the catalyst of a great relationship. Being a man of experience, he knew he needed a spotter to help get Addie's truck out of a tight spot.
He came to the security office to whisk me away from my chicken and rice I had for lunch. I stood up and walked to the door, re-tucking my shirt. I opened the security door like I had a thousand times before, and that's when I met my beautiful Addie.
