A night of song, dance, food, and sweets. Culturally, the mehndi wishes good luck and longevity to the bride and the groom. This event is open only to close family (you know who you are)!

Groom and friends + family make their official entrance to the wedding ceremony, accompanied by boisterous dhols.

The formal Muslim marriage ceremony, performed by an Imam or a Mufti. The Nikah binds the groom and the bride as husband and wife.

Dinner (and dance) is served! At the conclusion of this event, family and friends "send off" the couple into a brave new, married world.

We'll be serving up some food before heading down to Maryland for the rest of the wedding events.

For those of you making the journey to Maryland for the remainder of the wedding weekend, we will have a complimentary shuttle service. Note: this only applies to those who have expressed interest in the shuttle; if you aren't sure, please reach out!

The husband and wife host their first dinner as a married couple. The Walima consummates the marriage in the eyes of the family and the community. Bring your appetites and your dancing shoes!
