We recommend flying into Sydney International or Newcastle Airport!

Sydney Airport is a 2hr drive to Cessnock/Pokolbin. There are plenty of car rental options, or if you are feeling more adventurous, the train/bus are easy and inexpensive. Just keep in mind, once you get here, public transport/taxis are very limited.

Once at Sydney Airport, take the train to Central Station - train from Central Station to Maitland Station - bus from Maitland Station to Vincent Street, Cessnock.

Newcastle Airport is a 50min drive to Cessnock/Pokolbin. Depending on flight availability, this is the best option to reduce travel time once you arrive.

There are regular buses from the airport and multiple route options. We recommend you use google to plan your route or contact us to see if we're free to pick you up. :)

Newcastle Airport also has all the regular car rental companies onsite, once out of the airport its a short 500m walk towards the car park.

October is a very busy month for weddings in the area so we recommend booking your accommodation ASAP.

Cessnock Motel is a 5min walk from our home in McGrane Street and is walking distance to the city centre. This would be a great option for people without a hire vehicle.

Located in the CBD of Cessnock and walking distance to all the inner city services. It's a 10 minutes drive to the vineyards.

Our post-wedding get together will be held here at The Mighty Hunter. There is a café across the road where you can get your morning coffee. This would be a 45min walk from the city centre.

Centrally located between Cessnock and Pokolbin. The Crowne Plaza is a great option for families as it has a lot of on-site amenities.

Located in Pokolbin and close to our wedding location. There is a general store within walking distance and plenty of wineries to visit.

The Hunter Valley is Australia's oldest wine region, although small in comparison these days, we are blessed with a plethora of great wineries, cellar doors and restaurants. For those of you looking to spend a few days looking around we have listed a few of our favourite cellar doors below, in order of visitation to make it easy to plan a bit of a trip if you so choose. We have also highlighted some of the great restaurants if you'd like a culinary experience on your trip as well as a few other must see attractions, especially for those traveling with kids (these are marked ***).

If you require a taxi during your stay, we recommend booking your cab in advance as there are limited cars in the area.
