Story
As the story goes, I first laid eyes on her in the pews. I remember thinking to myself "Wow! Haven't seen you here before." I asked around and it turned out she had been checking out new churches. The initial plan was to ease myself into conversation with her each Sunday for a few weeks. Instead, I decided to ask her out immediately the next week. She always says that I never properly asked her out on a date. But all that matters is that we ended up having coffee at Luce for over two hours. As my luck would have it though, she wasn't ready to be in a relationship and I respected that. Conveniently, she ended up joining my small group. I asked her out again eight months later sensing she was ready. My senses were in fact not correct. Long story short, the subsequent two and a half years of friendship was filled with romantic irony until one day after church we found ourselves walking around Hermann park together. For the time, we openly talked about that first "date" at Luce and one thing led to another. This time she was ready and we haven't looked back since!
