Travelling to and from Cognac
Our wedding will take place at a lovingly restored Chateau, just 8km outside of Cognac.
Cognac is a beautiful market-town situated on the River Charente and is mostly known for the production of luxurious spirits. The main Cognac houses are Martell, Hennessy, Otard, Camus and Remy Martin - all of which you can visit during your stay, if you wish!
The best options to travel to Cognac from the UK are as follows:
1. FLY TO BORDEAUX - 1 hour, 20 mins by car to Cognac Centre Ville
2. FLY TO LA ROCHELLE - 1 hour, 10 minutes by car to Cognac Centre Ville
3. EUROSTAR VIA PARIS - take the Eurostar from London to Paris, cross Paris via Metro (or stay overnight) to Paris Gare Gare de l'Est for a connecting TGV (high speed train) to Cognac
From Manchester, flights are available to Bordeaux via Ryanair and EasyJet.
From London, flights are available to Bordeaux and La Rochelle via British Airways, Ryanair and EasyJet.
We recommend arriving into Cognac on Friday afternoon and staying through to Monday morning, to enjoy the full weekend of celebrations. However, for those planning a shorter trip, arriving in Cognac on Saturday and leaving on Sunday evening will enable you to join the main events. Check out the Schedule page of this site for more details.
For those wishing to hire a car, all major rental car companies operate from Bordeaux and La Rochelle airports.
