Staying in Asheville
Setting the Stage: Autumn in Asheville
Asheville in October is the perfect backdrop for a masquerade. Daytime temperatures typically in the 60s–70s, evenings dipping into the 40s–50s — perfect for layered looks and a dramatic wrap after dark.
The Blue Ridge Mountains blaze with autumn color, and the city hums with harvest energy.
Downtown Asheville is compact and highly walkable. Most central hotels place you just steps from restaurants, bars, and shops — making it easy to slip out for coffee in the morning or linger over cocktails after sunset.
Your Journey to the Ball
FLYING?
If your journey begins at Asheville Regional Airport, you're just 20–25 minutes from downtown Asheville.
A rideshare typically runs $30–$45 — a small ransom for entry into the weekend’s intrigue.
From there, downtown Asheville becomes your stage. Restaurants, wine bars, galleries, and rooftop views are all just a short stroll away. Leave the carriage behind. Wander. Linger. Disappear into the night.
DRIVING?
If your journey brings you over the mountains by carriage (or car), please note that many downtown hotels require a nightly parking fee.
We recommend confirming parking details with your hotel in advance, ensuring a smooth arrival and nothing to distract from the weekend’s intrigue.
Your Weekend Quarters
Choose your quarters as you wish — wherever best suits your weekend plans.
To remain in the heart of the revelry, we recommend downtown Asheville, where restaurants, rooftop cocktails, and late-night wanderings are all within easy reach. For convenience, a room block has been secured at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Asheville Downtown. (Scroll down for info)
If you prefer another hotel, discover a better rate, or have a favorite place to stay, you are warmly encouraged to book where you please.
DETAILS WORTH NOTING...
As you select your chambers for the weekend’s revelry, please note that Saturday evening’s Masquerade Ball will unfold at Homewood, 19 Zillicoa Street, nestled within Asheville’s storied Montford Historic District.
This grand 1920s stone manor rests just beyond downtown — approximately one mile from the city’s lively heart. While close in distance, it is not walkable, so plan for a brief carriage (or rideshare) journey to and from the evening’s enchantments.
