Story
Our story, like many of our era, began on the internet. After a series of dating mishaps (some televised), we eventually stumbled onto one another in December of 2014. We met for a casual drink in Durham, but after a few minutes we (read: Emily) upped the ante by moving the date to a romantic French restaurant across the street. Strategically, Tom kept his Grade-A material in his back pocket, but even so, our waiter repeatedly reminded Emily that she was disturbing the other patrons with her laughter. We ended up staying past closing time and concluding the evening with an awkward hug in the car. After 3 more dates in the span of a week, Emily decided it was finally time to take the most important early relationship step: introducing Tom to her pitbull Ruby. Unable to withstand Ruby's charms, Tom immediately fell in love and began a long legacy of composing and singing custom songs to her on a daily basis (Emily has yet to be written her own song). We have since added another female pup, Charlie, to our family, and despite Tom being outnumbered by all of the girls, we couldn't be happier to be starting our lives together.
