Story
Brian and I met the new "traditional way" - on a dating app! I'd always dated the same kind of guy and they were always terrible or just totally weird and I'd finally had enough. I vowed to not date anymore and just let love find me. That lasted about 3 weeks before I downloaded Bumble again haha. Brian and I matched and we talked for weeks before we actually met up. He was fundamentally everything I was looking for - I loved how important his family was to him, he was smart, and just had his head on straight.
Then we finally met up and things were good! But if you know us, you know that my personality is that of a hyper puppy and Brian is super silly, but definitely much calmer than me. So things didn't go as planned because I freaked Brian out with my big personality haha. We decided to stay friends though and talked almost daily. He even pretended to be into The Bachelor, which at the time I thought was SO weird but I later found out he only pretended to be into it so he'd always have something to talk to me about haha. He says he never gave up on me because he hoped I'd come around, but I didn't ever see us dating again.
We became really really close friends, and about 6 months later we went to dinner and he told me about a girl he went on a date with and I got jealous!! Then I was like wait, do I like Brian??? Turns out, I did! And because we were already close friends, things fell into place very easily and there is no doubt in my mind that this was all God's timing. There is no doubt in my mind that Brian is the one for me. We were best friends first, and that makes all the difference!
