Delay Shipping gives registrants the power to choose when their gifts are shipped to them for products sold and fulfilled by Joy. For items fulfilled by Joy, you can ship them one at a time or in bulk, whatever works for you.

How to Manage the Delayed Shipping Feature on Joy

Overview of the Delayed Shipping Feature

The delayed shipping feature on Joy is enabled by default to optimize the shipping process for gifts purchased through the platform. This feature ensures that gifts are securely stored and shipped only when you are ready to receive them, helping to prevent potential theft or misdelivery of items. If you prefer to have items shipped immediately, you can disable this feature in your registry settings.


What products are eligible for Delay Shipping?

When you add your favorite products from Joy’s Shop, you get the best experience of any registry. Gifts fulfilled by Joy are not only eligible for Delay Shipping but also come with these great perks:

  • To-the-door tracking for registrants and gift-givers

  • 20% registry completion discount

  • 24/7 customer support

Physical products fulfilled by Joy

All physical or shippable products from Joy’s Shop marked “Fulfilled by Joy” are instantly eligible for delayed shipping. This means you can choose when you want Joy to fulfill these items after your gift-givers have purchased them.

Gifts, or orders that contain more than one item, are shipped or delayed together and cannot be separated.

Any Seamless Checkout products will not be eligible for delayed shipping. The availability of stock is immediate and will be fulfilled at that time.

Digital or electronically delivered products from Joy

Gifts like eCards, experiences, and everything else sent by email are usually delivered instantly if purchased individually, even with delayed shipping enabled.

If an e-gift is bundled with a physical item set for Delay Shipping, it will also be held with the physical item(s) until you are ready to “ship” all items on that order.

What if the item on hold becomes out of stock?

Joy will always do their best to fulfill every item, period. However, sometimes, a product becomes so popular that demand can outweigh supply. You could encounter this scenario if a popular item on your registry awaits shipping and becomes out of stock.

In any case, registrants will always have access to Joy’s fantastic support team to make things right. Delay shipping will still allow you to try to ship the order, and we’ll send registrants an email should we determine there’s an issue with shipping needing attention.

How to Disable the Delayed Shipping Feature

If you want gifts to ship as soon as they’re ready, you can disable the delayed shipping setting by contacting our support team.

After Disabling Delayed Shipping: Next Steps

Once the delayed shipping feature is turned off, no additional actions will be required to proceed with shipping.
