Story
How we first met?
Khary: On September 5, 2015, we both attended a party in Vicksburg at the Tree House.
Jackie: That was the going place back then to have parties.
K: My friend and I were there first and saw Jackie and her friend across the room. We decided to go over and speak. As I was introduced, we found out that my cousin and her sister were dating.
J: It was crazy, because I had met his aunt and his mom, who were at a graduation.
K: And I had met her sisters’ years before, but never met her. My cousin told me about her months
before we met.
J: After finding out how close in acquaintances we were, I made the statement of “oh, we’re family”
K: “You ain’t no kin to me” was my response. Of course, I had to make that known. For me in that
moment, I knew I had to see her again. So, I decided that I would try to come to more parties just to see her again.
J: Not knowing his intentions, we met again at a party at the same place a month later.
K: It was Alcorn’s homecoming party. Jackie and her friends were at the bar, and she said what
happened to the days when men bought drinks. I overheard her and said, now it’s my time to shine. I whipped out that card and bought drinks for them.
J: Apple Cîroc and pineapple was my drink of choice. Every time I saw him from then on, he ordered that drink for me.
K: I went to at least two more parties and of course I saw her, and bought the drinks, but I still didn’t make any moves. Until January.
J: Yep. Another party. Seems like that is a going thing for us LOL. We love to have a good time. I am the dancer for sure. When I saw Khary sitting on stage with one of his frat brothers, I motioned for him to come dance. He looked around as if I weren’t talking to him.
K: It was random as hell, so I didn’t know.
J: I eventually walked over to pull him to the floor to dance. At first, he was hesitant, but I kept pulling him up. I just wanted to dance. That’s all!
K: I looked over at my frat bruh William Bell and he said, “Man you better get yo ass up!”
J: We danced to Ro James- Permission. After that, we sat on the stage and talked the rest of the night. I decided to take a couple of selfies of us: (see photos).
He even walked me to my car. The next day, he asked me to go to El Sombrero for lunch. We started dating for about 4 months and decided to make the relationship official on May 29, 2016.
Now we cannot wait to say "I do" on May 27, 2023 - and celebrate with our friends and family!
