Rajim's Story:
Jane and I met on a dating app call Pure Match during the pandemic. It's a dating app for disciples of Christ, created by disciples of Christ. Before that, we were both in our singles ministry's GroupMe. I saw her name and picture and I was like "I know most of the Harris's in our church... who is this?" I clicked on her picture and I was like "Whoa! She's GORGEOUS!!!"
... and then I thought to myself, "Our Church is huge! We'll probably never cross paths..."
I was using the app for a few weeks and I was matching up with sisters from California and overseas, but not really with anyone locally, so I was about to uninstall the app. God laid it on my heart to search one more time, and so I did... and there was Jane.
There was an event that the 35 and older singles was throwing so I reached out to Jane to see if she was going to attend. Although she said no, over the next few weeks, we chatted for a bit and asked each other good and deep questions. We tried to schedule some time together, but it didn't work out because of our schedules. She ended up going on vacation and well... she left the app altogether. I said to myself, "God, if we are supposed to meet in real life, we will meet."
...and we did... eventually.
We didn't meet face to face until after a Wednesday night service when our church was able to have in-person service again. I saw her and her mom across the room, and I introduced myself to her. I even removed my mask so she could recognize who I was. I asked Jane if I could contact her on Facebook and she said yes. We picked up where we left off and I found myself really enjoying talking with her. We ended up meeting for a few group events, but we didn't get a chance to spend one on one time together until she invited me to the Opera. And our journey just took off from there.
Jane's Story:
We met through our church and God let us see the truth of each other...the more we knew of each other the more we loved each other beyond initial attraction. We're excited to have a relationship that gives glory to God, serves others, helps each other be closer to God, and excited to pursue our shared purposes together.
