Story
Jason and Em first met at Alpha Epsilon Delta's, a pre-health honor society, winter rush event at UCLA in 2015. Being the go-getter that he is, Jason asked out Em within 2 days of knowing her and secured his spot on her 14P meal plan. In return, Jason introduced Em to LA's amazing food scene starting with their first date at Love & Salt. They shared stories about their childhoods and families and found so many things in common despite having been raised more than 6000 miles apart - Jason in Taipei and Em in San Francisco. As pre-health students, it wasn't difficult for them to find similar motivations and values in their pursuit of dentistry and medicine. Even though they were both science majors, they only attended one class together - Intro to Programming, a class that Em loved and Jason hated.
Their love for each other was solidified when their families met for the first time in Taiwan. Immediately, their parents hit it off and it was only a matter of time before their families knew that they were destined for each other. Through hard work and luck, Jason and Em were able to stay in SoCal for dental and medical school, allowing them to grow both as individuals and as a couple.
After 4.5 years of dating, Jason brought Em back to Love & Salt, where they had their first date, under the guise of his friend Eumi's birthday dinner. As they were greeted by the host, Jason had to take a "work" phone call, and asked Eumi to lead Em upstairs to the private dining room. After Em watched a pre-recorded video and slideshow that Jason put together for her, Jason entered the room to Westlife's "Hello My Love" and got down on one knee.
