Story
After having no luck on the romance front since college, I continued to pray about it for about a year and decided to try online dating lest my parents arrange my marriage. Within two days of joining e-harmony on March 14th, 2016, Nick and I were matched and I received a communication from him!
And from there, we started talking everyday, sending pages long emails back and forth until April 4th, 2016 at Francesco's Hole in the Wall in Northbrook, which ironically is related to the very first question he sent me through e-harmony, "would you rather have your first date at a hole-in-the-wall type place or a famous restaurant?".
Both extremely nervous, Nick getting there super early as usual and me actually being on time just with way too much make-up.... at last we were face to face. I couldn't eat because I wanted to make sure to listen intently to what he had to say..... which then pressured him to also reciprocate... so we both ended up not eating or remembering what we ordered.
Walking out with excitement, anticipation, and empty bellies, I mustered all my courage to ask Nick to chat some more. Little did he know I had his favorite dessert in a cooler with dry ice in my car because it was his birthday later that week. I surprised him with two Dairy queen oreo blizzards that were FROZEN SOLID. We had to go to Starbucks and ask for a cup of hot water to hold them over to melt them.
After some more good conversation, awkwardly shy laughing, and blushing, he asked me for another date... and we continued to see each other as much as our crazy nurse schedules would allow and then he popped the question on July 16th, 2017. And here we are! :)
