Q & A

For all our friends and family who have lots of questions, please check out our Q & A first!

When is the RSVP deadline?

Please RSVP by 15th September so we can make sure we have enough food (and the right food!!) for everyone…oh, and seats!

Are kids welcome?

Of course! We are looking to make this event as celebratory as possible and there is nothing quite like a raucous crowd of kids running wild to add just that final element to any decent gathering!
All we ask is that when you RSVP you make sure all their details are included and if this isn’t possible please drop us an email at laylagrsmith@icloud.com with the relevant information so we can ensure that there are seats, and food available.

Can we bring our dog?

YES!
Dogs are all more than welcome however please let us know so we can factor in (and make sure you are seated in a spot to allow you all to sit comfortably).
Our 3 dogs will be there and some of our friends and family have already advised they are planning on bringing their furry family so please be prepared for the chaos!!

Is there transportation being provided between reception and hotels?

Currently we do not have anything booked however if there is a large number of guests located at the same, or nearby, accommodation we are happy to look at coordinating something.

What time should I arrive?

If attending only the ceremony and reception on Saturday 26th we would ask that you are on site by 12:30/1 PM to allow time to get orientated and then seated.
If arriving on the Friday 25th then please feel free to arrive anytime after 4pm… and you are duly warned that you may get roped in to helping decorate 😆

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

If the weather allows then we are hoping to hold the ceremony outdoors to make the most of the location (and that view!) but all else will be indoors… and for those who require regular access for some ‘fresh air’ the plan is to have some fire pits lit so that there is at least a little warmth!

Are the ceremony and reception locations wheelchair accessible?

Yes, all event spaces should be accessible however it may require guests to use a slightly different routes at times as some doorways have a couple of steps but others do not.

What will the weather be like?

Please remember that this is to be late October in Highland Perthshire so please be prepared for all eventualities… having something warm and possibly waterproof would be good, and some sensible shoes, just in case…

How will food and drinks be served?

There is a bar on site within the venue space; they will take cash and card payments.
We are having canapés served after the ceremony and then dinner will be at around 5 PM; a hot buffet with a number of options so that we are able to cater to all the known food preferences and sensitives, so hopefully there will be something for everyone!

What if I have a dietary restriction?

Please make sure you make us aware of any dietary restrictions or preferences as part of your RSVP so that we can work with our caterers to factor these in.

Is it okay to take pictures with our phones and cameras during the wedding?

Of course! All we would ask is that whatever devices you are using are put on silent for the ceremony and that you don’t obstruct the photographer or other event staff, given they have all of us to deal with we don’t want to make their jobs any harder…😋
The happy couple would also prefer that no pictures are posted on social media, not until they have had the opportunity 1st… and only as long as they make them look good 😆

What should I wear?

Formal but fun, and would definitely recommend bringing a cosy option!

What kind of shoes should/shouldn't I wear?

We would recommend something a little sensible, (but for those of you with knowledge of the bride’s shoe collection this doesn’t mean boring!) probably not stilettos given the ground surface… a change of shoes for dancing is always popular 😉

Can I bring a date?

The invitations and RSVP section should clearly show who we have invited but if you feel we have missed anyone please just let us know and we can make sure (if we have enough room) that they are added on!

If staying onsite is there the option of staying additional nights?

Yes, some of the wedding party will be staying for the Sunday night and we are more than happy to organise additional rooms for other guests who wish to stay and we can add these on to the total accommodation costs for you, or your party.

We are coming to the BBQ on Friday, will there be food & drink provided?

Layla & Stephen will be bringing a range of food and drink (alcoholic and non) for the Friday but they may not be able to cater for everyone, depending on final numbers and any specific dietary requirements so if there is anything you would specifically like then please feel free to bring your own, or drop them a message to see if they can arrange!

Whom should I call with questions?

If you have any questions that aren’t covered here please contact us via laylagrsmith@icloud.com
