Q & A

For all our friends and family who have lots of questions, please check out our Q & A first!

What should I wear?

The dress code is semi-formal, however please bear the weather in mind. The temperature in the Algarve in August can, and does, exceed 30 degrees. Therefore lighter summer dress material and shorts and a shirt would be ideal.

We will be changing into Sri Lankan traditional dress for the reception, we encourage all our guests to also change however this isn't compulsory.

What traditional dress can I wear?

Men would traditionally wear a Sherwani or a Kurta, both of these are straightforward to wear. Women would wear a Saree, Lehenga, Anakali or Gown. We would recommend a Lehenga or Anakali as these are either a blouse (top) and skirt or blouse and trousers and are very simple to wear.

These can be purchased online. In person we would suggest visiting shops in Southall in London or Bradford in the nothingnesses of England. Note it is traditional for the Bride to wear red/fuschia.
