Saltmarshe Hall is a historic 19th century stately home located in mature parkland in the secluded countryside of Yorkshire. The grounds offer extensive lawns, wooded areas and a secluded walled garden which contains an array of colour with its kitchen garden, hornbeam hedges and bordered walkways.

Fronted by the River Ouse and set in 17 acres of stunning Yorkshire countryside, picturesque views can be seen from all areas of the garden.

From 1067 right up until the 1970s, the Saltmarshe Estate remained in the same family. Kate and Roland Whyte moved to Saltmarshe in 2012 and are only the third family in 900 years to own the hall. Kate and Roland have restored the current Georgian Grade ll listed hall with a dash of style but keeping its traditional charm.

The venue itself has been reserved for booking for the bride and groom and their wedding party only. However, please find alternative accommodation through the booking assistant service below.

For those joining us from abroad, the nearest airport to Saltmarshe Hall in Howden is Doncaster/Sheffied (DSA) Airport, which is 19.5 miles away.

Last orders at the bar are called at 11:45pm with the bar closing at 12am. Although we'll be sad to end the day, this is when the music will stop and taxis are to arrive. By this time we will have danced, eaten and be needing a good sleep!

Although there is no parking in front of the main house itself on the day of the wedding, there is parking available onsite for all of our guests.

You will be greeted by a parking steward who will direct you on where to leave your vehicle, which will be a couple of minutes walk away from the front entrance to Saltmarshe Hall.

If you are being dropped off by taxi, please feel free to pull up to the main entrance before getting out of the vehicle.
