We are not entirely sure this can be described as a date. I remember we went out with a few friends to get some bush meat and palm wine at a location I rather not mention (wink! wink!! We would not want the world knowing where we hung out...lol!). I did not completely see it, but I clearly remember my friends asking me why and where I had found such a beautiful friend. At first, I thought they were just being polite, but a couple of years after, she still keeps me stunned.

She has the heart of a child, the brain of a Sage, and a smile that warms my heart. She goes about her activities without a fuss and lets her results speak for her. For someone who is quite shy, she is quite strong-willed and not easily deterred.

He is extremely caring. I believe that being the first of 4 kids has contributed to his sense of responsibility. His passion for family is a quality that I am completely fascinated about. He is really friendly and without a doubt, jolly. And (this is the climax...wink!), I love his brain (and his brain is mine) because he is really smart.

He Says:
Our connection started out as Team lead - Team member. We moved on to becoming Mentor-Mentee, and then friends. I initially did not think we were compatible enough to get into a formal relationship but, I really enjoyed her company. She was that person I could freely speak with (no judgments). During our conversations, I was understood completely; it was also quite enjoyable to notice that I reached out to her opinions even after 'talking with the guys'.

I remember after another unsuccessful jab at relationships, I reached out to her and felt the need to indulge in some reflection and development. I indulge in reading to help deal with my personal and relational inconsistencies.

After I put together a list of every quality I wanted in a woman; I had a feeling that 'the answer' was right in front of me (wink!!!). The aftermath of the lockdown saw me take her on a couple of dates. I popped the first question...and the rest is history.

She Says:
Hmmm...!!! after we worked together briefly in 2017, we decided to become friends; frequently keeping in touch. Our conversations started out being strictly about work-related matters (...you know how these things begin...wink!...). It gradually became a lot more personal.

Sadly, he left the firm in early 2018, but we remained friends, kept in touch, and had quite a few dating experiences. We didn’t officially begin a steady, exclusive relationship until 2020. I guess he finally saw the light and started making moves *wink wink*.

He Says:
She listens to unsaid words. She understands even when I can't explain.
She is a constant in my life, a friend I can always count on. She knows when to push and when to hold.
It is like there is a "me" in her that sees and understands me and then tells her what I need.
It's seamless.

She Says:
He thinks about me, makes plans around me.
He genuinely cares about me and it shows.
He isn’t shy to broadcast his love for me. He’s very thoughtful in his gifts and the things he does for me.
He talks to me about everything and always seeks my opinion and input on things (...although he forms badt guy...!)

He Says:
Onyi's simplicity has made me a better person, I have become more patient. She is my anchor and keeps me in check to ensure I don't stray.

She Says:
He’s helped me to be a better planner, be more patient and take life one day at a time.

We went paintballing on my last birthday. We met some random people and teams were formed by the organizers and they somehow thought it was smart to put us on opposing sides. Well, in the first game I shot down two enemy fighters, one annoying guy that nearly killed me and the beautiful love of my life.

He Says:
It was obvious a proposal would happen eventually. I wanted to ensure the experience would be intimate and a surprise. I initially wanted to make it a nuclear family event. However, there was just one problem, 'Onyi is crazy smart and can smell anything from a mile away'.

I chose the least expected event, and all I had to do was keep the ring box hidden. Not easy but, it was done.

She Says:
We went out painting. At the reveal, he gave me his and I noticed he wrote a message
“Alone we are beautiful, together we are perfect. Will you marry me?”
I looked to find him on his kneel, with the most beautiful ring in hand. I did not expect the outcome
I was super excited! Very shy!: but, It was the perfect proposal...for me.

He Says:
Marriage means eternal friendship, companionship, and love.
It is a lot of work. But once both parties are committed to making it work, it will work.

She Says:
Friends and Partners Forever.
