Story

A birthday party... another birthday party, a borrowed book, a long conversation about prayer, a not date (probably a date) at a ramen place, and the rest is history. Sam and Jonathan met through a group of friends on the westside of LA who are seeking to follow God and learning to love their neighbors well. You'll often find this couple raving about a new food spot they tried out last weekend, spending hours on end at the beach, and trying their hand at a new board game with competitive friends. They are thrilled to be getting married in front of a group of folks who will hold them accountable to the promises they make at a point in time for years to come.

Tidbits

Who made the first move? How?

Sam says Jonathan, and Jonathan says Sam... either way, it worked out for the best.

What was your most memorable date?

One day, we talked about the conundrum that is choosing between savory and sweet options for breakfast, and before I knew it Jonathan had secretly collaborated with my roommate and snuck in early one morning to make french toast (my absolute favorite) and avocado toast (*insert joke about Millenials never affording a home*) before I woke up. I won't soon forget this moment.

Where are you going for your honeymoon?

Costa Rica!

What's the best meal you have eaten together?

We LOVE eating together--one of our favorite things to do is discover and explore new cuisines and restaurants. If we had to choose one... we really love Bavel in the Arts District

What's the most memorable trip you have taken together?

Last year, we drove up the Pacific Coast Highway before Thanksgiving and stayed in Half Moon Bay for a few days - it was magical.

What is your favorite activity together?

We love traveling together, whether it is camping in Yosemite, flying to a new place, or taking a day trip on the road! Other favorite activities include playing games, going to the beach, watching a new show, strolling farmer's markets, and eating great food (see "best meal" question)!
