Story
Zachary's Version: Back in July 2021 one of my best friends Aubrey invited me to his wife Kourtney’s 40th birthday celebration in Atlanta. We were all at his cousin Justin’s house at the time when this beautiful woman walked in the kitchen. I immediately recognized her because I had previously followed her on instagram when I saw one of our mutual friends posted her on their page. I had admired her from afar for a while and couldn’t believe that I had the chance to finally talk to her in person. So I took a quick shot to ease my nerves and immediately started doing what I do best - tell stories. This particular story about my dog Honcho was a big hit with everyone at the get together, but even still I couldn’t bring myself to make a move. At the end of the night when we were both leaving we crossed paths by Justin’s pool, but I froze up in the moment and just let her pass by (I would later learn that was the right decision at the time). After the get together she followed me on Instagram and we would chat from time to time in our direct messages. Then one day I was scrolling through her stories and noticed she used one of my memes and I realized that this was the opening I needed to finally close the deal. I immediately inquired about why she didn’t give me my credit (it was an amazing meme) and she jokingly replied that she did credit me. I then told her “Normally I’d charge $25 for my Instagram intellectual property, but in this case I’ll just take your number”. She gave me her number and we’ve been with each other ever since.
Samaria's Version: So our mutual friend, Aubrey, invited me to his wife’s, Kourtney, 40th birthday, as he had been inviting me to events over the last couple years and I had declined but 40 was special so I showed up! I was there with my girlfriends and noticed this guy that kept coming over to check on us and take pictures. I was like “he’s cute” but why does he keep coming over here? Fast forward to the “after party” (hosted at the same place where my ring was housed, lol), he kept me entertained with hilarious stories about his dog and their pandemic time together, which led me to follow him on Instagram and noticed he was already following me ;-). Fast forward to the night of August 12, 2021, I politely reposted one of his memes he posted about the hit show Insecure and he used it as an “in” to get my phone number… and long story short - we have talked everyday since!
Our Version: We met at Kourtney's 40th, followed each other on Instagram, and an Insecure meme in the DM's led us to forever!
