Story
There was something in the air the day we met on December 27th, 2014 - I now think it was most likely jet lag from my 46 hour trip from Sydney, but there must've been some magic too. We'd both come to Vancouver to be part of the wedding of our friends, not knowing we'd find a best friend in each other. A week of wedding festivities later, we vowed we'd have our own one day and our little love story began.
Many visits, trips together, delivered parcels, Facetime woes and I-miss-you-no-I-miss-you-mores later, we finally settled in our own place in Toronto in 2016. He watched me squeal with excitement during snowy days, I helped him in the kitchen whilst he cooked meals we'd bookmarked. We fought and mended, we laughed and had some bad days too. It was all bliss.
Two years later, we sold our Ikea furniture and moved to Sydney - new home, new adventures, greater growth and a whole lot more to appreciate about one another followed. He asked me to be his wife on a boat somewhere off the coast of Queensland one summer afternoon and I ugly cried whilst saying yes and 'you better not be joking'.
Now we mostly laugh and annoy one another, and most days we wonder out loud - how did we get so lucky? We still wonder.
