Q & A
For all our friends and family who have lots of questions, please check out our Q & A first!
When is the RSVP deadline?
Please RSVP by June 16th 2022, so we can have an accurate headcount.
Can I bring a date?
Please check your invite for your +1 but do not hesitate to reach out to us!
Are kids welcome?
As much as we love your little ones, we will not be including them in the ceremony or reception. However, we recognize that some of you will be traveling with your kids, so please know they are welcome at the Friday cocktail reception and Sunday brunch!
We will also be providing information for local babysitting services in the area!
Please reach out if you have questions!
What will the weather be like?
Welcome to Northern Michigan to all of our out of town guests!
There truly is is no more beautiful place to spend the summer! Although July is the driest month for the area, we are still getting married in the Midwest which means that, weather wise, anything could happen. That being said, while thunderstorms in the summer are common, they are usually brief.
Typical temperatures for Higgins range from low 80s in the daytime to mid 50s, so pack a cozy sweatshirt for chilly nights!
Where should I park?
Transportation will be provided to and from the ceremony and reception. We strongly encourage guests to use our shuttles!
There is a small parking lot a short walk from the venue that will be included in invitations details
Are the ceremony and reception locations wheelchair accessible?
Yes, and we will have a golf cart available for anyone needing assistance getting around the property!
What should I wear?
Please see our Schedule for the dress code.
Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?
Our wedding ceremony is outdoors, but our cocktail hour and reception will be under a tent.
What kind of shoes should/shouldn't I wear?
We will be getting married lakeside with a reception in a wooded area so it is very possible the ground will be soft. Although fashion is ever important, we absolutely want our guests to enjoy the night with as few orthopedic consults as possible so please be mindful of stilettos.
Is it okay to take pictures with our phones and cameras during the wedding?
Yes! We would love for you to take photos and share them on our app Joy.
However, please refrain from taking photos during the ceremony.
Whom should I call with questions?
Please feel free to call us with questions before the wedding day!
