Story
801 Miles and 4 States. This was the amount of distance that we had in-between each other before she would even consider going on a date with me. She was in Georgia and I was in Kansas. Ironically, we were pharmacy school classmates only months before all those miles would be standing between us. Who would’ve thought that the girl that I’d be spending forever with, would be the girl that was sitting at the same study table as I did for 4 years. Our love story was the greatest twist in a hidden subplot of our friendship and professional careers.
The Friend Zone. We were friends for 4 years. But we always had undeniable fun going out. Our love horoscope describes Aquarius and Cancer as “An Indomitable Force”. On behalf of all men, I was just elated and fortunate to make it out. I will say it takes persistence, spontaneity for adventure, and many cute-convincing-finally-go-on-a-date-with-me-ideas.
The Proposal. I knew my photoshop skills would come in handy for something one day. Her sister and I managed to concoct a plan that involved telling her we won a gift certificate to Nine Mile Station, a brunch beer garden on top of Ponce City Market with a downtown ATL skyline view. She would never go there knowing the cost, thus the gift card. We started with family photos, a photo of her sister and sister’s boyfriend, and then us and -- wah-lah the proposal!
