Story
I can’t quite pinpoint when we first met. We were both kids and Nick was 3 grades below me in school. I was a freshman in high school, which would have made him a 6th grader. At that time, I didn’t really pay him much attention. He was just my friend’s little brother who liked music, computers, art, skateboarding and video games. Some things never change! ;)
After high school, I remember seeing him here and there ~at parties of mutual friends, in between classes at college~ and always felt there was a mutual attraction. The timing was never right for either of us to make a move, but the attraction always remained. Thanks to social media, we were “MySpace friends”. He helped me set up my account from across the screen. He was always so kind and patient with me. Later, he would occasionally throw me a cyber compliment and I’d blush and thank him and off we’d go in our days. Then a few years later, Facebook came along and he sent me a friend request there too. I gladly accepted and we’d watch each other’s lives from across the country. Once I was in tears as I had dropped my laptop and lost all of Kylie’s pictures of her life. He began giving me advice of how to preserve them... and it worked! I was so thankful!
Fast forward a few more years later and the circumstances just fell into place. I’d moved back to Rocklin and Nick started messaging me on Facebook, eventually shifting to text messages. He always invited me to shows and this time I finally said yes. I had been wanting to go to one for years, and although I suspected it wasn’t my “thing”, I wanted to go because I enjoy new experiences, new people and let’s be real... I wanted the opportunity to hang out with Nick! Soon thereafter, he invited Kylie and me to dinner at his parents’ house. Early on, Nick assured me that wherever he was, we were welcome too... and we’ve been pretty inseparable since! We've already made some fantastic memories; he definitely makes my days happier and my future exciting!
