Our Facebook Love Story
Social media certainly has it’s pros and cons and we both love staying in touch with old friends and making new friends online. So it came as no suprise when we became friends on Facebook. It was through mutual friends 'People You May Know' so this was something that right away felt safe. We still debate who sent the actual 'friend request' haahaa. For about two years as Facebook friends we had no contact BUT we took note of each others Facebook activities!! Brendan did 'Poke' me once but I never responded sshhhh.
We both grew up in the flats in Wentworth, Durban, about 2 km's from each other but our paths never crossed. God had other plans for us!
In Feb 2018 I posted a Facebook status that I was excited about travelling to Germany and Brendan responded with his first funny comment: 'put me in your suitcase'. That was the start of a beautiful friendship.
It was romantic. It was innocent. It was pure. And it was respectful. We would go to sleep with a goodnight text and wake up to a good morning text. We counted the days until our first meeting. We had never done anything like this before. But we knew. We could just tell. This was life changing.
27 April 2018 was our first face-to-face meeting at OR Tambo airport. As soon as we laid eyes on each other, something clicked. Everyone says that when you know, it just feels different, and that’s exactly how it was between us. There was no going back. Life is now our life together. Love is now our love together.
Brendan planned a romantic picnic and went down on one knee to propose on 6 July 2019 and now, just more than two years later - we’re thrilled to take the next step into our FOREVER AFTER.
