Our Story
It was early January of 2014 in New York City when Laura and Matt crossed paths at a mutual friend’s birthday party. The meeting must have been brief, as a year after, Matt messaged Laura on Snapchat asking who she was. They exchanged messages through social media and after a little back-and-forth they realized they had met a year earlier at that party. They both had just moved to NYC, and as some of you know, dating in the Big Apple is NOT EASY! Laura and Matt remained “social media” friends for the next two years. They would “like” each other's photos and exchange short messages every six months in hopes one day they would finally meet again.
After three years, in April of 2017, the stars aligned and they FINALLY went on their first date at Rabbithole in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Now, if you know Laura, you know she is always running late, and if you know Matt, you know he was very impatiently waiting for her to arrive. He almost thought he was being stood up, but he waited, and thank God he did, as it was the most special first date they had ever had. They chatted and laughed for hours. Little did they know they would call that same Brooklyn neighborhood their home for the next three years, living together just a block away from their first date spot.
Laura and Matt overcame challenges in their relationship, learning to support each other through the euphoric highs and extreme lows that New York and relationships in general throw your way. They both learned what it meant to be a lifemate, grow into adulthood, love each other's flaws, and become better together.
Fast forward to 2022, and Laura and Matt have traveled the globe together, visiting family in all corners and living in both New York City and Miami. In Cartagena, Colombia, last year, Matt finally popped the question and the couple became engaged. The next chapter of their story will be ushered in together with their closest family and friends in Riviera Nayarit, Mexico.
