Q & A

Important details

When is the RSVP deadline?

To help us get an accurate headcount for meals and cabin placement, please RSVP by 7/1/19.

I am coming from out of town. Where should I stay?

If you want to be close to the action and camp activities, we recommend you reserve a spot in one of the cabins here: . If that's not exactly your speed, there is a nearby town about a 10-minute drive away and you can sleep there in a normal size bed in your own private room. Details can be found in the "Travel" section.

How can I reserve a spot in a cabin?

You can make your reservation for both Friday and Saturday night or just Saturday. The ticket price includes a space in a cabin, meals, and activities. Reserve your spot here: .

What should I wear?

Clothes! Please wear clothes! This is *not* a clothing optional wedding.

What kind of clothes? Whatever makes you feel: classy enough to honor the bride and groom, comfortable enough to dance in, and durable enough to survive an evening at a summer camp.

You'll also want to bring clothes for the weekend if you're staying the weekend. This is straight up casual summer camp clothing time -- shorts / jeans, shirts, fleeces, tennis shoes / Chacos*. You'll probably want to bring a jacket! Check the weather forecast before you pack. It can get chilly in the evening.

*please note: this is strictly a Chaco wedding. Any Tevas will be politely but firmly asked to change their footwear.

Can I bring a date?

Your RSVP should explicitly state whether you can bring a date. If you want to double check with us, send us a message! But be prepared for an awkward 'yeah no actually you don't get one -- sorry'.

Are kids welcome?

Yes! Kids are welcome! Children are a necessary component of the survival of our species and will one day decide the fate of the world. As such, they are invited to the party. Just RSVP and pay for their accommodations as if they were a regular normal person. If you and your kids want to stay onsite in a cabin you can reserve your spot here:

Where should I park?

There is parking on site but it is a 3 hour drive from Minneapolis, so we strongly encourage carpooling. The greatest gift you can give us is a reduced carbon footprint*.

*(just kidding. Please use our registry)

Will there be activities?

You bet there will be! It is a summer camp after all, and while we are ironing out the details, you can expect activities like:
-Canoeing
-Stand up paddle boarding
-Kayaking
-Hiking
-Field games
-Arts (and farts) and Crafts
-Campfires
-Board games
-Sauna
-And so much more!

Crap, I forgot to pack my (swimsuit, bug spray, flip flops, raincoat, pillow) what should I do?

Let us know and we will see if someone else has an extra, but otherwise there is a Target in neighboring Virginia MN about 15 minutes from camp with all of your Target needs.

Are the ceremony and reception locations wheelchair accessible?

Not really, but we'll get you there Grandma :)

Can I bring my own food/drinks?

You are welcome to bring your own food and drinks to camp but we have limited space for refrigeration, so if you own a cooler, we suggest bringing it.

Can I eat meals at camp if I'm planning on staying offsite?

Of course! But let Zach or Sarah know which meals you plan on attending so the kitchen staff has an accurate head count.

Will camp be able to accommodate my dietary restrictions?

Yes! We are taking extra care to make sure that our vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free guests can find options at each meal. When you RSVP, please let us know what you can't or don't eat so we plan accordingly. Feel free to email us at dorksgettingmarried@gmail.com if you have questions.

Can I bring my dog?

Sadly no, service dogs only please. For questions on Warren's dog policy, contact us at dorksgettingmarried@gmail.com.

Is there WiFi at the venue?

Not really. There's a little wifi in a secret location but we're not telling anybody and we're designating it emergency wifi only. Think of it as an opportunity to break that crippling smartphone addiction you've been meaning to do something about :)

How can I help the couple have the best time during their wedding day?

Awww. That's sweet of you to read that. Two things you can do:
1) Have fun! Wedding prep will be done by immediate family and the wedding party so leading up to the day just chill
2) Don't make a giant mess! We'll be doing cleanup so don't treat this like a freshman frat party.
