Upload Your Own Design

Some people come to Joy ready to design from scratch. Others arrive with a finished file and just need to get it on the card. If that's you, this is the right place. Upload your design and it goes straight into the editor exactly as it is, no rebuilding required.

From your Event Dashboard, click Invitations.

  • In the card gallery, find the Upload Your Design card

  • Select your preferred orientation: Portrait or Landscape

  • Under Product, choose either Classic Paper or Premium Digital

Classic Paper

  • Select your Paper Type, Shape, and Quantity

  • Click Customize Now to open the editor

  • In the editor, click Photo in the toolbar

  • Select your file from your device

  • Use the zoom slider in the toolbar to scale and position your design

Premium Digital

Note: All text must be part of your uploaded image file. Text is not editable after upload. If you need to make changes, upload a revised version of your file.

  • Click Customize Now to open the editor

  • In the editor, click Photo in the toolbar

  • Select your file from your device

  • Use the zoom slider in the toolbar to scale and position your design

  • To add a background color around your design, select a Wallpaper Color from the right panel

File Specifications

  • Size: 5 x 7 inches (for paper)

  • Print bleed: 1/8 inch on each side. Keep all text and important content at least 1/8 inch from the edge (for paper)

  • Minimum resolution: 788 x 1,088 pixels

  • Optimal resolution: 1,575 x 2,175 pixels

Adding a Clickable Link

If you want to include a clickable link on the back of your digital card, use the Photo Full back-of-card layout. This lets you upload your design as a full-bleed photo while keeping a link button you can reposition anywhere on the card.
