A cash fund is how you give money toward something the couple specifically asked for: a honeymoon, a home, date nights, or whatever they've set up. You don't need a Joy account to contribute. Choose an amount, pick a payment method, and the money goes straight to them.
How to Contribute
Visit the couple's Joy website and click Registry. Find the cash fund you'd like to contribute to and click on it.
Select a contribution amount from the options shown, or enter your own in the Gift Amount field.
Click Additional Payment Options to choose your payment method, or pay instantly with Google Pay or Apple Pay directly from this screen.
Tip: Google Pay and Apple Pay are the fastest way to contribute on supported devices. No card details to enter.
Choosing How to Pay
Select the payment method that works best for you. You'll only see the options the couple has enabled.
Credit or Debit Card
Your contribution is processed securely through Stripe. A small card processing fee applies and is shown in the order summary before you confirm.
Enter your name and email and click Add Details.
Choose Basic Gift Note to include a free message, or Personalized eCard to wrap it in a designed card ($5.99).
Review your total and complete your payment.
App Payment (Venmo, Cash App, or PayPal.Me)
Your contribution goes directly to the couple's account on that platform. Joy does not process the payment, and there are no fees.
Enter your name and email and click Add Details.
Review the instructions screen. You'll see the couple's username and the amount you're sending.
Chose to send a personalized card or basic.
Click Copy Venmo Account (or the equivalent for your app) to save their username, and open it on your own device to pay.
Or click Got it, then Let's go to Venmo and complete the payment in the app or on the website.
Return to Joy. When asked "Did you send your gift with Venmo?", click Yes, I did. This notifies the couple and marks your gift as purchased.
Cash or Check
You'll mail your contribution directly to the couple using the address Joy provides.
Select Cash / Check and click Next.
Add a gift note if you'd like, then click Next.
Note the mailing address shown and send your contribution by mail. Click Got it when done.
Click Confirm & Notify recipient to let the couple know your gift is on its way. If you've changed your mind, click Cancel Gift instead.
Mail the check or cash to the couple.
Where Does My Money Go?
Credit or Debit Card: Processed by Stripe and deposited into the couple's account
Venmo, Cash App, or PayPal.Me: Sent directly to the couple's account on that platform.
Cash or Check: You will need to mail it directly to the couple at the address provided.
Note: For Venmo, Cash App, and PayPal.Me contributions, Joy can only record what you confirm on the site. The couple's account on that platform is the source of truth for whether the payment was received.
