A cash fund is how you add the things no store sells to your registry: a honeymoon, a first home, date nights, or any experience you're looking forward to. You can create as many as you want, customize each one with a name, photo, and goal, and choose exactly how your guests contribute.
From your Event Dashboard, click Registry.
Creating a Cash Fund
Go to the Add Gifts tab.
In the Explore Your Registry section, click Add a Cash Fund.
Enter a name for your fund in the Cash Fund Name field.
Click the camera icon to upload a photo for your fund (optional).
Click Next.
Setting a Goal
Under Allow Gifts In, choose how you want guests to contribute.
Any Amount
Guests can give whatever they'd like.
Enter an amount in the Total Goal field, or leave it blank if you don't have a specific target.
Check Hide goal from guests if you'd prefer they don't see the number.
Click Next.
Fixed Amount
You set the contribution size, and guests give in that increment.
Enter a number in the Quantity field.
Enter an amount in the Gift Size field.
Review your Total Goal, which updates automatically based on Quantity × Gift Size.
Click Next.
Contribution Methods
Toggle on the payment methods you want to offer. You can enable more than one, and each fund can have its own settings.
Enabling more than one method gives your guests flexibility.
Credit or Debit Card
Joy recommends this option. Contributions are tracked automatically, guests can check out with Apple Pay or Google Pay, and funds land directly in your Joy Wallet.
Transaction fees are paid by your guest, not you.
To transfer credit card contributions to your bank account, you'll need to connect your it via Stripe.
App Payment
Toggle on App Payment to accept contributions via Venmo, Cash App, or PayPal.Me. There are no fees for this method.
Toggle on App Payment.
Select your provider from the Select Provider dropdown.
Enter your @username in the field provided.
Click Send Test Payment to verify your handle is correct.
Confirm both acknowledgments and click Save Payment Method.
Note: App payments are not automatically tracked by Joy. Joy can only record that a guest reported completing a payment. Your Venmo, Cash App, or PayPal.Me account is the only reliable record of these transactions. Joy cannot assist if funds are sent to the wrong account.

Cash or Check

Adding a Note and Saving
In the Note to Family and Friends field, write a message to your guests about what the fund is for (optional, 512 character maximum).
Click Add to Registry.
Using a Prebuilt Cash Fund
Joy also has a library of prebuilt cash funds with photos and names already chosen: honeymoon trips, date nights, road trips, and more. You can customize any of them and add them to your registry in a few clicks.
Click Cash Funds from the Add Gifts page.
Browse the options and click on any fund that interests you.
Click Edit and Add.
Update the Cash Fund Name, goal, and contribution methods as needed.
Check Our Most Wanted under Mark gift as... to let guests know this fund is a priority.
Click Add to Registry.
Editing a Cash Fund
To update a fund after it's been added, go to Manage Registry and click on the fund.
You can update the name, photo, note, goal amount, and contribution methods at any time. Two things to keep in mind:
Switching contribution methods will not move contributions already received to the new payment platform.
Your updated goal amount cannot be lower than what you've already received.
Tracking Your Contributions
Go to Track Gifts to see contributions as they come in.
Credit card contributions appear as "Processing" while the payment is being finalized. Once complete, the funds appear in your Joy Wallet, where you can transfer them to your bank whenever you're ready.
App payment contributions are recorded when a guest reports that they've paid. They do not appear in your Joy Wallet. Because Joy cannot verify these transactions directly, check your Venmo, Cash App, or PayPal.Me account to confirm receipt.
What guests see on your registry: Your fund shows as "Available" until the goal is reached, then flips to "Purchased." If you didn't set a goal, it stays "Available" until you choose to hide it.
