You're in the home stretch. The website is built, the domain is yours, and this is the last step before guests can find you at an address that feels completely personal. This article walks you through connecting a domain purchased through Joy, which is managed through GoDaddy.
Note: This article is for domains purchased through Joy (powered by GoDaddy). If you bought your domain through a different provider, see Connecting a Domain You Purchased Somewhere Else to Your Event Website.
Connect your domain
Go to sso.secureserver.net and log in. This account through GoDaddy is separate from your Joy account and may use a different email address and password.
If you see a banner asking you to verify your email address, check your inbox and complete that step before continuing.
Under My Products, click DNS.
Select Forwarding.
Click Add Forwarding.
Tip: Not sure what your Joy URL is? See How Do I Find My Event Website Address.
Enter your Joy website address in the URL field. Your Joy URL starts with
withjoy.com/followed by your unique event handle, for examplewithjoy.com/jimandpam.Enter
https://at the start of your Joy URL, nothttp://. This keeps your site secure and ensures the fastest loading speed.
Click Save. Your domain is now set up to forward to your Joy site.
Confirm it's working
Test your domain in a private or incognito browser window rather than the one you've been working in. Cached data in your current browser can make it look like the connection hasn't taken effect yet, even when it has.
If you ever update your Joy event handle, you will need to return to these steps and update the forwarding URL in GoDaddy to match. See I Changed My Joy URL After Connecting My Domain. Now What? for more detail.
