Designing and Sending Premium Digital Cards

Ready to take your digital invites to the next level? With Joy’s Premium Digital Cards, you can create beautifully customized designs worthy of your big day. Match your style, share your cards easily via email, text message, or a link, and even track delivery to make sure everyone gets their copy.

Premium vs. Basic Digital Cards

Premium Digital Cards give you more ways to customize your card. With full customization, you can tweak the details to make your card uniquely yours. Add photos, share important links, and play with layouts that reflect your love story.

While Basic Digital Cards are free and budget-friendly, they come with limited editing options and fewer design choices. Premium digital cards give you access to our newest, most popular designs and advanced editing tools.

Editing Digital Cards

Editing your cards is as easy as designing our paper cards. It’s intuitive, fun, and gives you creative control.

How to Edit

  • From the event dashboard, select Save the Date or Invitation.

  • Browse the gallery and once you find the perfect design click it.

  • If you chose to upload your own design, you can find more about that here.

Front of Card

  • Choose your silhouette.

  • Click the text on the card preview to edit.

  • Adjust your wallpaper background. You can match your wallpaper color to your design.

  • When it's perfect, click Next: Back of Card.

Back of Card

  • Select a back-of-card design featuring photo, text, or link combinations.

  • Click the text fields to make edits.

  • Click the photo to import a photo.

  • Click the QR code to make edits to which page it directs to.

Envelope

  • Choose your Envelope color.

  • Add some animation.

  • When all looks good, click Next: Review.

Not sure which design to choose? Create as many drafts as you’d like and review them on your Drafts Page before finalizing your order.

Review and Purchase

  • Review the front and back.

  • Select your Quantity.

  • Decide on your delivery method(s).

    • Email delivery is included in the cost.

    • Text (SMS) delivery is an add-on feature for Premium Digital Cards and includes an additional cost. (Available for US and Canadian phone numbers only.)

      • Predefined bundles are available in sizes of 50, 100, 250, 500, and 1000. Choose a quantity that matches your guest list size and consider future adjustments.

  • When you're ready, click Go to Checkout.

Making Edits After Your Purchase

  • Go to your Orders Page.

  • Select your digital card.

  • Click Edit Your Card.

  • Make your updates.

  • Click Submit Changes

You can edit your card even after sending. Updates apply to previously sent cards and future deliveries.

Sending Premium Digital Cards

Sharing your digital cards is fast and simple.

You can deliver your card by:

  • Email

  • SMS text message

  • Shareable link

Email and shareable link delivery are included. SMS delivery is available as a paid add-on (US and Canada only).

Sending via Email or SMS Text Message

After purchasing, you’ll be taken to the send screen. You can return anytime from your Orders Page.

Customize Your Message

  • Click Edit Subject.

  • Update the sender name.

  • Edit the subject line.

Your sender name and subject line appear in both email and SMS deliveries, along with the link to your card.

Send a Test

To test email:

  • Click Send Test Email.

    • The test will automatically go to the website owner.

To test SMS:

  • Add yourself to your guest list with your phone number.

  • Click Select Recipients.

  • Select your name.

  • Send a test message.

Choose Recipients

  • Click Select Recipients.

  • Choose guests from your guest list.

  • Select your delivery method:

    • Email: Each guest will get a personalized email addressed to them and their household. For example, “Jonah and Jenna” or “Adam and Guest” (for unnamed plus-ones).

    • Text Message: Each guest will receive a text message from Joy with your custom message and card link.

    • Both: The guest will receive both a personalized email and a text message.

If you've added phone numbers to your guest list but don’t see the text option, make sure the country code is included.

SMS Delivery Availability

SMS delivery is currently supported for phone numbers in the United States and Canada. Phone numbers outside these regions will not receive cards by text. If you’re sending to international guests, use a shareable link instead.

Want to skip email or have International guests? Use a shareable link instead!

  • Scroll to the bottom of your Send Page.

  • Click Copy Card Link.

  • Paste it into a text, group chat, or social media post. Quick, easy, and perfect for sharing.

Note: Delivery tracking (like opens and clicks) is only available with email and SMS delivery.

Tracking Delivery

Once sent, you can view delivery status for emails and SMS messages by clicking Track Delivery on your order or from your guest list.

Ordering Matching Paper Cards

Love your digital card so much you want a physical copy? They’re perfect as keepsakes or for guests who’d love something tangible to remember your big day.

  • Go to your Orders Page.

  • Select your digital card.

  • Choose the option to order matching paper cards.

  • Complete checkout.

Sending More Cards

Need to send additional cards later?

  • Go to your Orders Page.

  • Click Send More or Resend.

  • Choose Select Recipients.

  • Select your guests.

  • Click Send Card.
