Your RSVP is more than a headcount. It's a chance to get the information you actually need from your guests before the day arrives like meal choices, dietary restrictions, song requests, or anything else that would otherwise mean a dozen individual texts. Here's how to set it up the way you want.
What Guests See By Default
If you don't make any changes, your guests will be asked:
Whether they're attending
Meal preference and hotel room (follow-up questions, only shown to guests who are attending)
Whether they're attending the rehearsal
Their mailing address
Their connection to you
How to Add a Question
Click RSVP from your Event Dashboard. The Questions tab opens automatically.
Click + Add Question.
Choose a question type:
Attendance - asks guests if they're coming. Joy uses this to track your headcount and lets you add follow-up questions based on their answer. Attendance questions are always required.
Multiple Choice - guests select one answer from the options you provide.
Text - guests type a free response. Best for open-ended questions like dietary restrictions or song requests.
Suggestions - pre-built questions like Advice and Honeymoon Ideas that you can add with one click.
Check Required if you want to make the question mandatory. Attendance questions are required by default and can't be changed.
Tip: If you want to offer a kids meal option, add it as one of the answer choices on your meal preference question rather than creating a separate question.
How to Delete a Question
Find the question you want to remove and expand it by clicking on it.
Click the trash icon at the bottom right of the question card.
If no guests have answered yet, you'll see a Delete Question? confirmation. Click Delete to remove it permanently.
If guests have already responded, the question can't be deleted. Click Archive instead to hide it from guests while keeping their responses safe.
Note: If a question has follow-up questions attached, delete or archive those first before removing the parent question.
How to Unarchive a Question
Scroll to the bottom of the Questions page and click Inactive to expand it.
Find the question and click Unarchive.
