Website Privacy Settings
Updated over 4 months ago

Protecting your event from potential party crashers is easy with our personalized privacy settings. Just choose which sections are VIP-access only and which ones are open to the entire digital realm. After all, we don't want any gatecrashers trying to dance the Chicken Dance at your elegant affair!

When you set a page to "private," only guests you've invited to Joy and shared the event password with can access it. This way, you're in charge of who gets to see which pages, post, or catch up on your wedding moments.

Customizing your privacy settings:

  • Hop over to the Event Settings Page.

  • Click the "Website" tab.

  • From there, click on the "Modify All" button next to the "Pages" section and you've got options!

  • Choose between "private," "public," or "hidden."

    • Private - Guests will need to enter the password to view any of your pages.

    • Public - No password needed.

    • Hidden - You can handpick which pages show on your site.

  • Only want some pages to require a password? Just click the Visibility button next to each page and select "Password Protected."

Setting your Event Password

  • Scroll down to the Event Password field.

  • Click "Edit" and type your new password.

    • Length Matters: Your password must be at least 4 characters long.

    • Keep it Simple: Avoid using special characters or symbols in your password.

    • Case Sensitive: Don’t worry about mixing upper and lower case—passwords aren't case-sensitive here.

Customize your Search Privacy

  • "Allow guests to search for my event on Joy" allows guests to visit withjoy.com/find and search for your event using your names to easily locate your website.

  • Enabling "Allow my event to be found on Google, etc." sets your website up to potentially be indexed by Google. This means your event could show up in search results, but this does not guarantee search results.

That's it! Your site's now tailor-made, with specific content or pages set just the way you like—private or public.
